The manual is included in game for
all players for the purpose of saving money. This allows us to charge
you the same amount as before for something that cost less to produce.

I fail to see how this is a bad thing?

I miss the big manuals you got back in the day™. The type of stuff you'd read on the toilet.

At least I'm happy not all publishers are like EA.
The Witcher 2 (Namco) comes at 40 euros for PC in Europe and not only it contains full manual, but also a thick game guide,a cd with soundtrack,a dvd with 'making off',and a coin, yet EA games come at 50 euros, and only contain game's disc, not even manual.

Wait. There's no holstering?

...wtf?

I haven't been paying attention to the in/not in status of this feature, because I figured it was, you know, a given.

Nope. And you can blame the PS3 version for it.

Wait wait wait...

HOW is an Ingame Manual easier to use then a standard one?
Would you elaborate this Chris?

I mean... when I have a Paper one in the Hands I just turn to the appropriate Page...
This online thing has to have some sort of scrolling and/or menu... this in fact does complicate it only more!
And WHO does NOT have the Manual right where they play?

Do you really think we would keep it locked up in some other room in the house?

So please tell us the REAL Reason for it...

I don't need a manual. It's first few levels will take you through all you need to know.

I've never been able to fathom why people have a habit of reading on the toilet tbh.

I always though we were entering the digital age where paper sources are getting replaced by digital sources. Apparently, other people see a different reason for not including manuals in games. Maybe we are still in the 20th century and I'm just hallucinating that we are in a tech-savy generation.

While I prefer a physical manual, I don't mind when they are included in game. I feel ripped off when neither option is used.

Hell yeah, with background information about the games, the advanced techniques you could use. Awesome.

Are there seriously people out there who don't understand printing millions of manuals raises production costs? It's 2012 people, get with the times.

They're saving money and selling at the highest perceived acceptable level.  The Business rulebook says "if you can do it... then do it." nuff said.

^exactly! and that is why I have that game pre-ordered and paid in full already! I will support CDProjekt cuz they actually respect games and you can see their passion just by playing their games. They give you a fat fat bookolet and it is soo great!

I cannot quote dialogue from Vault-City from Fallout 2, so I say it simpler: I prefer light reflected off a surface versus light emitted from a surface when I'm reading. No, I'm not luddite - quick search in digital documents, IF it works, is very useful and handy. But when it comes to pleasure, I prefer good old books.

They why digital copy of game have exact same price tag as physical one? I will not have patch, litography, album and whatever else they deemed necessary to add, yet price is same.

That's not true, the DDE has the same contents as the CE, all in digital form, except the patch,

Hey guys, this isn't an ME3 specific thing - EA moved to electronic manuals quite some time ago. I think even for ME2 PS3 we had no paper manual.

Damn straight.

I'm going to get the Witcher 2 when it arrives on Xbox in April, and you know what I get for the basic purchase?

The game on 2 discs, the OST disc, a phyiscal world map, a thick game manual AND game quest guide, not to mention several other goodies on top of that, which, depending on where I buy the game, I can get some keychains, shirts, Xbox avatars, etc.  Might I add that this isn't even the collector's edition?  This is the regular, sixty-dollar standard edition?

Yeah, so BioWare/EA, I'm not mad that there isn't a manual.  I'm mad that THEY can do stuff like that, but you can't.  What gives?
