The manual is included in game for all players for ease of use. This allows players to find the manual if they wish at any point that they need this.

I fail to see how this is a bad thing?

It's hard to read the onscreen manual from the toilet.

Surely I can't be the only one who uses game manuals for reading material on the throne?

IIRC both Assassin's Creed II and Brotherhood had no manuals in them. It was an in-game manual. So meh.

Actually Assassin's Creed I and II had fairly detailed manuals in them that tied into the story, Brotherhood's was pretty basic which kinda disappointed me.

The longstanding tradition of reading the instruction book on the toilet.

Not that I've done this since I never touch instruction books except for story tidbits in the beginning.

Haha That what I was just saying! :D

The days of reading your thick butt RPG Game Manual while you sit on the John are now long gone it seems...

Time to invest in pron I guess

Some people actually enjoy having a manual to read through. The games of old had amazing manuals, and I miss them dearly.

In all seriousness, less trees are destroyed thanks to this movement.

What game in 2012 even had a manual?

Yeah, a lot of games have come out so far -.-

Last year, Skyrim had a substantial manual. That was the only boxed release I got, though.

Hasn't the industry already had this conversation? This is not a new trend.

BSN forums? No games come with manuals now. Saves on printing paper, and they can just make it digital. I want to throw things at you guys. Litterally.

Unless I buy it off of steam every game I have ever bought has come with one. TW1&2 came with a friken booklet and players guide, hell Civ 4 came with one as big as some books. When did this stop happening?

I cannot even begin to explain how much I love CDProjekt. Seriously. They are my #2 favorite mainstream game company (behind Bethesda) now. Both of them get instant preorders for anything they develop.

I'm getting the CE edition so I won't be concerned with this.
But I miss the manuals.

It used to be, I would read those manuals on my way home after purchasing a game.
Now if you get a manual at all, it's all the boring disclaimer stuff, and button maping of the controler. I mean who cares about that?

People complain about everything d00d! The way I see it is we save a few trees and still get an easier view of the manual.

Not angry or upset about this. Manuals are all digitally installed anyway. But more concerned where the PC code is going to be. ._.

Likely not, the Kingdoms of Amular was the same.

In the box was the usual online pass, bonus stuff and the booklet that contains all the health warnings. No manual.

KOA was EA published too maybe it's a new policy.

KOA also had the "moves" section in the menu which was far more illustrative than any no video manual could be. Describing each atack with a couple sentences is far inferior to just showing me what it does. The game itself is not exactly what one would call complicated. Press each button once and you'll figure it out. Hell the first mission is a tutorial!

I liked KOA and the moves section. That's not a negative post just an imformative one.

Most games are being shipped with a 2 page manual these days. Like Gears of War 3 and CoD. It is because they are supposedly "going green" and that is their way of showing it.

When an FPS has more of a manual than an RPG, you know you have a problem.

Or a TPS... wait... that's what ME3 is aspiring to be.
