The manual is included in game for all players for ease of use. This allows players to find the manual if they wish at any point that they need this.

I fail to see how this is a bad thing?

Paper manuals are easier to use. They allow the player to flip through them without having to dig through menus.

Paper is a superiour medium for text. I like manuals.

Your to blame when we run out of oxygen due to no trees left. :crying:

Dude most O2 comes from the ocean, plus plants are only using around 50% of their resperation potential.

Yet another inspired and thought provoking topic on BSN. TC, if you don't like it, then make your own. Don't forget to include lots of pretty pictures.

As someone who lives in a small town full of " furry little woodland creatures" I can tell you this, they are nothing but a pain in the ass. Also they could just make the stuff out of recycled paper thus making this a non issue.

I stand corrected.

This forum really can complain about anything, in real life or in-game.

Dont even say anything ubisoft does should be repeated by any other company, thats like asking everyone else to act like the downsydrome kid on the playground.

umm fair enough if youve never played the mass effect game before, but seriously id imagine more than 80% of the mass effect community has played mass effect 1 if not 2,

this should only be a problem for someone who has never picked up a controller before.

the rest of us shepards should know by now how to kill the reapers since the first moment of becoming a spectre.

either way, im sure theres bigger things to worry about, ie: mass effect 1,2 playthrough and then batter the mass effect 3 demo continuosly until the big day :-)

I actually used to enjoy manuals, but I have no major issue with lack of them these days because the quality of them in general has rapidly declined. Plus in those days you had to actually go out and buy the games from shops and could enjoy reading them on way back on bus/train or car (if passenger). These days it is generally removed from the equation for myself, most comes through the mail or downloaded digitally.

Then again I also gain more content information from wiki's than printed materials.

@OP

That's been a trend for a while now. Used to be you paid $15-25 for a game. You actually got a box and inside were the game discs AND a full manual.

Now you pay upwards of two to three times that much and you get a DVD case with a game disc AND a stupid pamphlet. If you're lucky, there's a digital manual on the disc. If you're not, there's a link somewhere to their web site where you can download it.

Ultimately, they drop a ton of links to official game guides which put revenue into their pockets thanks to licensing.

So basically, just like every other damn thing today, you pay more and get way less than you used to. Plus, games are generally unfinished or unpolished with mega bugs, glitches and conflicts which usually require Day One patches to address. Again, if you're lucky, you can spend 30-45 minutes installing the damn thing only to realize that you have to download newer drivers and even more patches.

Great to be alive, isn't it?

In all seriousness, less trees are destroyed thanks to this movement.

Saved to be used for advertising rubbish and code redemption stuff, no doubt.

edit: The main problem with in game stuff is that it seems to be a tradition to make them as pointlessly annoying to read as possible.  To be honest, I'd rather just tab out of the game and read it on a website,

This problem has already been taken care of, if it still bothers people they can just download it.

Personally I don't need or read manuals of games these days.

I mean all that's in there are the steps installation, wich are self explanatory if you ask me.
A few instructions of the gameglay, wich will defninetly explained troughout the game experience.
And at last a warning about epilepsy and the support hotline, where no one answers,
in my experience.
Unless people want a manual for sentimental matters. Wich in that case doesn't matter what's in the manual.

But that's just my opinion, though.

I like manuals. Some of them provide small bits of info on characters, story, and such. Others used to provide details on skills, items, and even enemies. I guess most of that have gone into strategy guides. They also used to look good.

I hope having a tab in the game does not mean no manual in the box, but it won't be a big loss. The manual for my ME1 and 2 were both slim, black and white affairs. Awefully bland. The art book is the way of the future, for better or worse. Lol. Thank goodness it's available from B&N and even Amazon now.

No matter how small the "issue" is, there is always something to complain about. <_<
