Its a bad situation for all gamers on one hand if people actually boycotted the game and sells were horrible it would kill a great franchise hence gamers lose. But if it sells great and everybody buys the day 1 dlc we are pretty much telling them as consumers that its ok to strip content out of a game at launch and sell it extra hence the chance of making this shady practice a common thing,I will probably buy the game personally but skip the dlc,

Actually, there are threads giving proof that EVERY character still has a play in the story if they survived. You fail again.

Can the story progress without them?

Congradulations, they are not nessicary characters.

Your still dodging my main post explaining all of it. You lost brutha. Go while you still have dignity.

Agreed. He should leave and go have his pity party. Before he realizes there is no hope in life and kills himself. And i will laugh.

Your main point was that DLC characters are not nessicary to the plot. I point out that the majority of NON DLC characters are not nessicary to the main plot.

You can say I've lost all you want, doesn't change the facts

At this point I would say yes I will prob pass on purchasing the game, even though I love the series to death.

1. EA's decision to boycott Steam where I want to play my games
2. Day 1 DLC that sounds a lot like main game content rather than a true DLC
3. EA's treatment of PC gamers in general
4. Because I dont hand over 60 bucks of money to folks who dont listen to the consumer

I preordered the standard edition, but I doubt I'll "purchase" any dlc.

Please I have collectors edition, and even on the impossible chance I would want to boycott the game, I would just sell my collectors edition I could make an easy $200+ off ebay

"lost" "failed" ??

this is a forum not a boxing ring.
though if it were a boxing ring this whole issue would be solved in round 1 :D

but it does go to show what the OP`s point and the reviews says about todays gamers

No, my point is Bioware has stated he's not important to the story AND is not cut from the game, but was developed by DLC teams. You've managed to ignore all my posts explaining everything, and insist that your word, with no proof or credibility to back you up, is better than Bioware's, which has both. Your just as close-minded as the "Biodrones" you criticize. I'm done arguing. You have presented no evidence, concrete or theoretical, that proves Bioware wrong. You can get mad and rant, but you are wrong about the DLC. Good day.

I can't boycott since I pre-ordered the CE and I don't expect that to be available later, not at the MSRP anyway. Even most who have have decided to hold off now will probably pick it up at some point. No need to boycott out of cost alone, just wait for the cost to drop. :)

Why yes, yes I do. Because of Origin however, not the DLC issue. Couldn't care less about the DLC when I'm not getting the game anyway...

boycott isnt about money, thats just being cheap :P

boycotts about standing up for the state of gaming and the treatment by developers.

think of it as a meal at a fancy restaurant.
you used to pay for a decent meal, now they are charging more and shovelling swill into a trough, and thats what should be a concern to every gamer.

but evidently theres some who are happy with swill

as the link shows, its the gamers fault its like this.

I'll make a stand on something that isn't finishing off a trilogy. Right now I couldn't care less how much I'm being ripped off. I want ME3 and I want that DLC.

I'm getting the game. If without the DLC it feels like a good and complete 60 dollar game then I have no problem with it. If the DLC feels like it's worth 10 dollars then I still have no problem. If I do have a problem with the game's content or the DLC it's going to be a big problem.

First DA Awakening came out with tons of bugs, some pretty serious, and BioWare wouldn't patch it.

Then DA2... Too many problems to mention but I think "shameless rushed money grab" seem to cover it. (I blame the marketing and the people who set the game development time line though not the game makers.)

Mass Effect 3 can go either way. It could prove that BioWare's new direction is to take as much cash off consumers as they can while giving them as little in return as possible and that ideas like "respect for fans" are dead in the modern gaming industry. Or it can be worth every penny and help resort my faith in a company that I have been a huge fan of for over a decade.

Multiplayer, no Karpyshyn and L'Etoile, unimpressive demo, Origin, From Ashes...

... I am not boycotting. I just dont care anymore. But From Ashes is boycott-worthy thing. Its just ridiculous and disgraceful. I am curious how much bs from companies like EA it will take for people to realize how much they are milked and abused. But dont mind me, I just started playing games when they were sold complete on launch. Call me nostalgic.

*goes to play some indie games*

No, boycotts are for important things, like effecting change in society or voicing oppression to draw attention to an issue. This is not like that. This is a bunch of gamers - many of whom will probably buy the game anyway - getting pissed off. That happens all the damn time.

To call this a boycott is an insult to all the people who've boycotted for important things.

I preordered CE for the PC but EA decided that it's not worth it for them and limited copies (My preorder was cancelled), so I can either buy standard edition withouth many cool thingies and very interesting character or worthless Origin edition.
It's a shame really, they just reasured me that they don't care about their customers and no, I won't buy it until price drops or they do something about this ridiculous DLC.

Really? A boycott is just abstaining from something, stop trying to make yourself sound so righteous by siding with political protestors.

Not so much a boycott, but I won't be purchasing. I can always borrow it later on the console, or even rent the thing, as others have suggested. If not for Origin, I'd have gladly paid for it on my PC.

I can have my cake and eat it too :) A little self-control goes a long way.
