Bioware have specifically said that the content was not stripped from the game, but developed afterwards.

Until you can provide PROOF that they're lying; I'll side with them.

Oh well if BIOWARE said it, it must be true. I mean they have nothing to gain from lying about taking content from a finished game and charging 10$ for it!.

Just like they didn't lie about SecureROM being in Dragon Age 2!

And I know you'll side with Bioware, Sweetheart. Cause you're a brand loyal fanboy, and you can change that.

You have any proof to backup that claim?

*10$ DLC announced 2 days after the game went gold.*

Wow that was hard

Not boycotting, but holding off for the time being.

Yes.
I will not buy this DLC if it is what I am afraid it is. Otherwise, cancelling pre-order is just stupid, it only works when many people do it. And there clearly aren't many.

Neither is Garrus, Miranda, Tali, Jack, Jacob, Samara, Zaheed, Grunt, Wrex...

Why? BECAUSE THEY CAN ALL DIE IN ME1 AND 2

Lol ok so what your saying is, while the big corporation has submitted proof and backed up the statement that the DLC isn't important, we should believe you because... You say so? The reporter in ME came up with better arguments than you.

OH YA, Prothean squad mate. No canon relivence at all. I don't even know what a Prothean is! Must be a new race.

Also, he has no more story significance than any squad member that could be killed in ME2

They implied the context and exposition which he offers even if not present as "part of your squad" is possibly in the SE game. See below.

Possible Spoiler Content

>Random Guy (of little importance) There's a theory going around that whatever you could've learned from this Prothean is already part of the core game, you don't need the DLC to get that content. What you do need this DLC for is to bring him along for the ride.
I'm inclined to believe this, to be honest. But we won't know for certain until the game comes out.

>Jessica (Bioware) No spoilers from me, but you may be on the right train of thought with that ;)

That's proof that BioWare announced $10 DLC two days after the game went gold, not that it was stripped from the main game.

I have bought DDE of Mass Effect 3 because it will conclude a story I personally love, however I will not buy future Bioware games, It's not only the From Ashes DLC issue but about what Bioware used to be but now no longer is.

Bioware has become a slave to EA
EA became the publisher for Bioware somewhere in 2009

Mass Effect 1 was released in 2007 when MS was the publisher, excellent game with exploration, good story and REAL RPG elements.

Dragon Age: Origins was released in 2009, also an excellent game with interesting story and an extreme amount of depth to the choices and most of the game was developed without EA funding.

Mass Effect 2, Problably was in early development when EA became the publisher, All RPG elements ripped out, Exploration thrown right out the window, Still a good story, (Love the game but I'm a fan of RPG's not Third person Shooters with an upgrade system) Made to appeal to GoW/CoD/Halo fans.

Dragon Age 2. The game where you either love it or hate it, The only thing die hard fans cannot dispute was that the areas were extremely repetetive, This was not a typical Bioware game with choices, this was a Novel in game form, Not a single choice mattered at all because there was no time to develop any consequences.

Why EA? Why do you have to try to appeal to GoW, Halo, CoD fans? People were huge fans of ME1 and DA:O, the next game with the same mechanics or similair is gonna have alot of people talking about it anyway.
The AAA game market has become so boring so stale, All games are turning into FPS/TPS, those are dime a dozen.

Doesn't mean they aren't important. I don't have time to give all the effects of having them and not having them, so I'll just let you rant. There are billions of threads giving the effects of keeping them. Try again?

Bioware's proof is that they said so.

I may not have irrefutabble proof that they didn't strip it, but I'm also not trying to get you to buy a 60$ game and 10$ DLC with it.

So, you tell me who you should trust

I'm not buying the DLC either for the record. But going on.
Here's the difference, you can talk out of your ass with no ramifications (Like now). Mass Effect 3 comes out in two weeks. If the Prothean really was important to the story, people would notice. There would be a huge uproar over the fact that Bioware is now lying. In other words, Bioware CAN'T lie, you can. So I'll believe them. Wanna try again?

In response to the OP: No, I won't be boycotting, but I won't buy ME3 until I've tried it and made sure that I like it. I don't want to spend my money on a pre-order only to find out I wasn't entertained by the game.
This strategy worked well for me with DA2 (which I never bought).

I never even had the slightest thought of canceling. Sure, there are a few things I dislike Bioware is doing with Mass Effect 3, but I don't let small things like that get in the way of how much I love the series.

I am proud to say, Bioware has a lot of my money, and will be continuing to receive it for now.

You're assuming:

A) That every non DLC character is vital to the story. Which is wrong. The only character i can see being vital to the story is Liara since she can't die.

And

B) Even if Bioware WAS lying, you're assuming that people like yourself wouldn't valiently take arms in their defense.

Wow. I havn't seen anyone above the age of ten just plain assert the opposite and think that it was  a valid responce.

I'm not boycotting anything. I'm way to invested in my Shepard just to stop it at chapter 2, I need to see the final chapter.

I call BS to people complaining about DLC, you all act like it is a Bioware & EA problem and yet you seem to forget all THOSE OTHER GAMES even before Bioware was part of EA that came with DLC yet no one seems to bash or complain about them. I seem to recall a horse armor somewhere.

You people just like villainise(sp?) EA as the big bad corporation and yet forget about Activision which is the other big bad corporation.
