Graphics are definitely a step up from Mass Effect 2. Character models are more detailed and the environments look gorgeous compared to the bland blocky environments of ME2.

PC high res texture pack will be great, even though it already looks better than me2.

There's a high res texture pack?

No.

Hard for me to say. I think it depends on where you are in the demo and I don't know how much I should judge off of a demo but this is what I saw:

When you're on Earth I found a lot of bad textures but when you proceed later to do the mission with Garrus and Liara in your party, I found everything looking beautiful to the point I think it did surpass ME2. (I feel like this was the only thing they put the most time in while I was playing)

FemSheps face default or custom bother the heck out of me. Something about it just feels off almost less realistic and I'm not counting the hair (some people have a problem with that while I don't)

The animations in combat and when you are simply just running around were worse this time around to me.

I guess I'll go with overall NO. It could have been an improvement but still needs some more polish. There was just too many things that looked like they took a step backward on despite the one time I thought it looked great.

Is ME3's graphics an improvement over 2's? Yes (without question).

There has been no confirmation of any kind regarding high res textures, so I'm assuming there aren't going to be any.

No, worse. They look about 3 years outdated now.

On PC, that is; I don't know how the console versions stack up.

Ya but unfortunately consoles come first. Sorry but after finally having a kick ass computer I built for BF3 I can never go back to consoles. Next gen when they have they have the modular consoles maybe but not now.

Yes, better they are. Not by a whole lot but the limits of this generation have been reached.

Chris priestly said the same thing about ME2 and he was wrong, so I'm gonna need more than the word of a PR person.

I really hope the Normandy gets a higher resolution texture in the game, because it's almost as bad as the ME2 texture.

It was precisely this that was missing from the PC demo.

I would say that the face models dont look better or worse just much different visual style especially noticeable in the CC. If you recreated your shepard in the CC of the demo exactly it would still look different because the faces just look different.

If you can play the demo you can find out for yourself, but yes, the graphics are categorically better. The limits of the hardware on consoles is being reached, so they're not light-years better, but they're better.

I still can't believe people are ****ing about Anderson's hands...

I didn't notice many improvements, really. And screenshots are always tuned-up and look better than the actual game.
I really hope they release high res textures though, if not the game will really looked out-dated.
Some people say that graphics shouldn't matter in RPG game, but it's bullcrap for this game since it's supposed to focus on epic moments and scenery. Withouth good graphics it won't work (MW3 for instance, destroyed cities didn't impress me at all since they looked so bad).

The graphics on Sur'Kesh looked way better than the ones on the Earth Mission.
Overall they look a little bit better and crisper (seen in the new footage by IGN and the new trailers) but I have to admit that the backgrounds in multiplayer aren't looking great. The snowy mountains on the white multiplayer map looks really low-res (i hope this got fixed)

A good question to be asking. It would appear to me that most people who think the graphics in the demo are better than ME2's are playing the xbox version. Or maybe it's just wishful thinking and hope that not everyone with a gaming pc has suddenly gone blind.

Environmental wise, it's beautiful. Character wise? Custom and Default FemShep are inferior to ME2. In ME2, Femsheps actually looked realistic. I haven't seen a single ME3 FemShep that looks realistic. They all look like cartoons. Sheploo, however, looks amazing. Anderson looks awesome (minus the zombie hands). Kaidan, Ashley, and Vega look great as well.

The way I saw it, Anderson was caught in an explosion. His clothes are also ripped to hell, unless he usually dressed that way. Are Anderson's hands that way before the explosion? If they were, then I'll stand corrected.

I don't think the fingers would be that smooth after an explosion.  .  Then again, he might not even be human ^_^

Characters look a lot better in this game and they FINALY got the blonde hair right.
