Button spamming is a crutch for people with little skill. I don't rely on that myself so your logic is way off.

Button spamming is a technique used in fighting games, which is not at all relevant to playing ME3. Speak for yourself about logic or lack thereof.

Besides, I do believe I said it requires precise timing to properly use the Charge/Nova technique, not "spamming" as you claim, the Y and RB buttons. Also, enemy selection is key. Charging into groups of enemies wildly and using Nova right away, especially below level 15-17 or incorrectly specced, is a quick way to get killed.

Smart play is required for Charge/Nova techniques, not dumb "button mashing" or "button spamming" gameplay as you claim it does. Learn to play it please, or at least gain some experience using the technique properly before you make such inept accusations.

I've been doing just fine on Silver even when the game bugs out and my skill bar is empty with my Krogan Soldier xD Shotgun + Krogan charging does SO much damage then you proc rage with damage reduction or pop Fort in an oh-crap situation and peel out, heal and go back in!

By that logic you could say using any abilities, at all, is for people with no skill, just because you get by just using guns.

Play how you want but don't belittle what actually works.

Also, while Half-nova is the safest bet in full charge. Using the 15 second Cooldown upgrade on Nova does help limit the time needed for Charge, which for those who are using lightweight builds primarily, is much appreciated without sacraficing damage.

It can also be used in a safe spot to intentionally lower the cooldown of your Shockwave for stall tactics. This can actually be quite effective in holding choke points until reinforcements come in without pushing heavy risks.
