Rebooting usually helps in my case. Closing and restarting Origin(without rebooting) on the other hand does nothing.

Release dates are wrong in the email - just did the release check (my pre-load has finished) and the release dates are what they previously stated.

I.E 6th March US and 9th UK. 

March 6th at 12:01 AM EST.  Here on the west coast, we'll be playing on March 5th at 9PM.

Did you try reloading your games at the cog thingy? Might help, if not you go bug the Origin guys and gals until you get your little protean buddy!

I must say, Origin always seems to have consistently fast download speeds for me (6.0 MB/s).

That's one advantage it has over Steam, where the download speeds vary so much.

Haha! Cheers will try that.  I've already been on to EA/Origin about different things today so one more won't make a difference

@ daemon deathstone1 Thanks for that it's working fine now, strange tool the Origin client, had to relaunch it to get the N7 Collectors stuff. So if anyone else is stuck, click on the cog thingy and select Reload My Games, then try to download the DLC or Collectors Edition Mats again and hopefully it works for you too

the from ashes is a day one dlc so not likly to be able to download till release same for the n7 items.

I know the the Collector's Edition bonuses can be downloaded but haven't seen any proof of the "normal" pre-order stuff: N7 Defender Armor, N7 Valkyrie, M55 Argus and AT12 Raider.
Maybe that's in the game already and no extra download required?

Gotta agree here. I've used Steam for a long time, and the download speeds I get on Origin are sometimes shocking. Speeds I didn't know I had.

Sue them for what?  The only way to pre-load is if you purchased it.  They can't sue someone for modifying something they bought.  EA and Bioware should just change the release date to next friday.  Retailers will have it by then, pre-loads are starting then.  Might as well give everyone the ability to play it next Friday considering that legit buyers with cracks and pirates will be playing then, too.

Makes me regret getting the physical CE instead of the Digital CE.  But the 10 bucks I saved felt good, too.

modifying the game without consent of EA/Bioware is a federal offense. you own your copy of the game and the right to play it, not the right to change source code and create CD cracks.

Probably not officially approved, but it's doubtful they'll really care. EU players unlocking games on the NA release date isn't all that uncommon. It's not like you're pirating it, or anything.

modifying the game without consent of EA/Bioware is a federal offense. you own your copy of the game and the right to play it, not the right to change source code and create CD cracks.

Other than that, the game will not be cracked from an Origin preload, before the release date (it might be possible to do so from a decrypted medium). The game executable is actually an encrypted container for the real .exe (and possibly other files) and will only get decrypted via a valid key, assuming the software passes the date activation check (which is done server side, so no point trying to 'hack' anything). The encryption is usually so strong (128 or 256 bit AES) that there wouldn't be any point for someone to even try.

If you are thinking about activating earlier through VPN IP, they officially do not support it and it is well within their rights to punish people for using such methods. Usually, they let it slide, though.

You can, though I doubt you'll get an official response on it. It's one of those grey areas. Something you're not really supposed to do, but can probably get away with.

It's worth a shot, I guess.
