So why does Europe have to wait 3 days longer, even if you want to get it through online means. Digital distribution you know.

Because of Wallmart.

so preload of the game early b4 March 6th mean I can have it completely installed but I won't have access to actual play it until the 6th? What all this means is just to save us a day of time downloading on the official release date?

Pretty much, yeah.

It means that people who are on slow connections, have enough time to download it in time, and won't have to wait for days while all their friends with physical copies are playing already.

Will we also be able to download our Digital Deluxe extras on March 2nd too? DLC, digital art book, robot dog, etc.?

DDE files are most likely part of the locked download, just like ME2's DDE bonus-files are part of the download. So it'll pre-load and unlock at the same time as the rest

Thanks for the quick answer, I hope it works that way so I don't have to download a half dozen items separately on March 6th.

I'm thinking we still might have to download the DLC seperatly though, but those won't be really big files. Oh well, we'll see.

Any word on the Digital Deluxe extras Chris? Are they downloaded with the game and unlocked at the same time or will things like DLC be separate downloads from our entitlement pages on the day of release?

Mass Effect 3 is already out for torrenting on some specific Russian sites I've heard.

Does preloading the digital deluxe version mean you have access to the bonus stuff before the game is released (soundtrack/artbook/comic etc)? And does Europe really have to wait those extra days? Maybe someone can accidentally flip the switch on the 6th too? :x

Can you preload if you buy a physical copy as well? I mean, in the end everybody will be a Origin user and has an Origin account. So it would be nice to preload and then unlock by entering the serial number from the retail version.

So how much HDD Space will it take?
ME 2 had ~12-15 GB (~20+ GB with all DLCs).

Allowing preloads that early is a terrible idea, it just give the pirates the ability to get the game before everyone else

Umm.... no, PC Edtions will have a ''CD/DVD copy protection and digital rights management'' and that does even pirates won't be able to play the game until it releases in the region they are in.

Exsample could be: SecuROM

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SecuROM

You're kidding right? Pirates will have the game cracked within a day of the preload, it's happened before.

I aint kidding, the game won't be cracked before it's out.

Except console edtions, they will be pirated days before release, because consoles uses no copy protection DRM, so thats just ''Free Play'' for the pirates.

I have seen game cracked 1 month before release date (Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge, Tomb Raider Anniversary, etc). Don't tell us it is impossible while it is actually possible.

You are very naive.

Syndicate preload aviable  17 february, crack out only today

BF3 was playable 8 days before release, your argument is invalid.

I have friends that had finished ME2 over a week before release, thanks to pirates and cracks.

Wow, that's really small compared to ME2. I hope it's just because of better compression, and not lack of content.

There are many (popular) games that have been able to stay uncracked for years despite lots of attempts, but then again. Those tend to have very intrusive/obstructive DRMs.

I take it this does not affect those who bought the game from "Brick and Morder" stores?
