I was wondering if there have been any reviews or announcments on the number of gameplay hours in the game.
Quite honestly I'm tired of beating games in two days. Though I doubt this will be the case with Dragon Age: Origins. I'm a completist; I do everything and anything while playing the game soaking in as much content and story as possible.
I'd like to estimate at least 30 hours of play, though I'm honestly hoping for more. 60 hours or more would rock my socks.
I'm sadly unemployed at the moment, so I play games obsessively until I beat them, at least 10 hours a day, if not 12 and up.
As a community do we have any idea?
Oh, please don't bother telling me to get a life. I'm quite happy living in the fantasy world of games for the time being. When I want to get out, I'll get out!

It's been reported anywhere from 40 - 100 hours. So I guess it depends if you walk or run through it.

From what BioWare and reviewers have said it'll take even the most determined player atleast 80 hours to go through one playthrough. The Warden's Quest team played 24 hours straight and only completed 16% of the game.

I've heard 70 to 80 if you do most quests, I've also heard 40 if you skip a lot of side things.

Reviewers are fairly consistent in reporting around 40 hours for the main quest for most people. The fastest reported time for charging through the main plot skipping dialogues was around 13 hours, and that was done by QA devs with God mode and insta-kill cheats on.

Thank you for the answers.
I'm even more excited now.
Just the thought of a possible 100 hours of gameplay makes me happy in the pants place.
I'm such a geek.

Yeah one review said 45 hours for the main quest, but around 70 if you focus on getting everything.
Then you can replay it with a different character and morality and stuff, so easily 100+ hours.

Mmmm lets see... after playing all six origin stories including all side quests @ 100 hours each that would = 600 hours of game play, not bad for the money

The best and only benchmark I will rely on to formulate my opinion pre-release is the game stats that were mentioned at the end of the Warden Quests event. The announcer said that after 24 hours of constant, hardcore gaming (by a team of 4 people who could rotate, get beverages, and were very motivated) completed only 16% of the game.
This is the only content "review" I really care about because it demonstrates what it will be like for someone who has never played this game before rushing through it as quickly as they can. For someone taking their time and enjoying the content, I expect as much as 50-80% more time spent.
So work that out with me using "50% more" as our fulcrum. Twenty-four hours = 16% x (6.25) = 100% game complete. That means playing the way the people at Wardens Quest played, it would take around 150 hours to get every objective, journal entry, quest, and compendium update in the game. A normal speed would take 225 hours!!
GRANTED, not all of that "100%" complete is straight up gameplay content. In fact most of that is probably "drink 10 potions in a row while in combat" or "have only 1 party member survive a combat with less than 10 hp" sort of achievements that X-box Live gamers thrive on. But a huge chunk of that will also be raw gameplay. Besides which, I am a completionist, and I want those damned achievements.
From start to finish I expect to spend at LEAST 60 hours on my first playthrough. Anything less, I am disappointed. Anything more, I am thrilled.

We (Team Canada) played for 22 straight hours in the Warden's Quest event before we were eliminated. At the end of that time, we had around 22% of the game completed. Keep in mind this was competition play, so we didn't do all the side quests available to us and were somewhat hurried to get through as much as we could while trying not to skip great chunks of it.
This game is massive.
