So he may be in the main game, just we miss out on the DLC mission and getting him as a squaddie.  I don't remember seeing him being a part of the script that is basically what they used for the retail game outside some squad banter and a few lines with Shepard, but maybe BioWare pulled a fast one and added it in somewhere.

Nice. I hadn't seen that... It sounds to me that she was talking about the actual mission on Eden Prime. Very vaguely of course. If I remember correctly he played a big part in the script at some point. So we'll have to see about that one.
