I know the feature is locked in the demo, but what do you think it will do? I think it somehow carries over to singleplayer in some way, but I'm not sure how.

It allows you to send a LV20 Character off to fight the Reapers in the "Galaxy at War" system. It's how the MP affects the SP.
Also, the character slot is wiped clean, allowing you to start a fresh character.

There is an achievement related to this button, so the theory would be that by promoting a character in MP you are increasing the Galactic Readiness in SP, which was the whole point of MP.

I wonder how many characters you can do this with. I assume there is a cap on how much you can raise the readiness level with the MP otherwise it would trivialise what Shepard is doing.

id love to see a squad full of characters i promoted from MP show up in the solo campaign, that sounds like a great implementation. id promote an army of krogan: worst case scenario shepard just goes chuck norris and wipes em all out

I wonder if promoted characters have generic names (or no names at all) or do they appear with the names we've given them in MP?

How do you wipe the character clean, all the characters share levels.
