Well it is the demo, they'll have more customization in the full game, and a lot more maps, and probably other challenges.

Given that cryo blast, stasis, nova, pull, and throw exist (not to mention spammable moves like overload, energy drain, etc.) I seriously doubt a "balanced" PvP system can happen.

Competitive PvP? WIth Stasis, Biotic Charge, Cloak, Krogan characters, the Widow and all that assorted jazz? It would not have been balanced at all. Support classes would be insta-killed by offensive-minded classes, Vanguards and Infiltrators would utterly dominate. it would mean fundamentaly changing how the game plays, which would be very time consuming with most certainly mixed results. Not to mention integrating it into the lore and story of ME3 would be more or less impossible, and that fact that the multiplayer is so tightly woven with the SP is the reason I like it so much. Yeah, it's going to be stale quicker than the multiplayer of PvP shooters I guess, but in ME3's case, unlike the vast majority of shooters with a multiplayer, the core component is the SP. The multiplayer is an extra. And as someone who was extremely wary of it when it was announced, I was quite pleased by the demo and will be eager to get back under the skin of my badass Krogan.

No customization of look is very minor to me. It would mean making a CC for all 6 alien races (OK, 5, Quarians don't count I guess), pretty pointless when you will never stare at their faces, since multiplayer is all combat and not dialog.

I was expecting something like Assault mode in the Unreal Tournament series. You get a series of objectives to complete across a big but semi-linear map. To be honest, I was surprised to see that it was just a small map and they threw enemies at you for 10 rounds. It's still hella fun though, even level 20's on Bronze can enjoy. And remember, we're stuck with 2 maps, there will be loads once the game comes out, and more items.

I would like to see bioware make a spin-off multiplayer game available for download on XBL/PSN for $15. Something based on the Mass Effect universe but with a focus on multiplayer and customization. I'd love a PvP mode as well, but I can't see how they would make that balanced at all, not without seriously changing the current powers.

And what do you care what we talk about I wonder? If we wanna have inane banter whats it to you?

Oh and yes ME3 is viable for PVP. You fight NPCs now whats stopping bioware from letting people play as Cerberus?

All that separates PvP from PvE is balance and a human.

PvP "balance" goes a little something like this: "WAAAAAAAH YOU KILLED ME ONE TIME! YOU'RE OVERPOWERED! NERF HIM! MY class IS UNDERPOWERED! BUFF ME! WAAAAAAH!"

There will NEVER be PvP in this game. Not as long as there are players on the other end of the screen.

When you can find me a PvP community that does not have ONE person crying for balance because X class beat him in X match, then I'll side with you.

I don't mean true balance I mean blance that seperates a player character from an NPC. In most cases player characters are spec'd way higher than the typical NPC. Bring the NPC specs more in line with the PC specs and thats what I mean.

Then again I assume that has already been done on silver/gold NPCs.

You can't have a real balance because people will always be unhappy.

One word: Vanguards.

The package system is addictive but damn frustrating. It took me over a week straight to get any other races, and I haven't seen anyone unlock the alternate human genders.

I don't mind the system, as long as we can do something to focus on which ones we want more.

Dude I can tell you this right now on Gold, they out spec you, out level you, out arm you and out manuver you. Gold is literally stacking the deck against you.
