Alliance News Network: Cerberus expansion deemed “significant threat”

This makes me think there's an in-game honest to god reason why and how Cerberus can field armies in ME3.

You would think if they could revive someone who was dead for almost 2 years they could do anything within reason, i bet most of those 2 years was spent on the theory and putting it into practice they could easily refine that technique and produce something akin to kamino in clone wars. But then if thats true it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth for some strange reason...(i bet you mass effect fields was involved :P)

So, Cerberus is more or less working with the reapers eh? Makes sense, TIMs eyes look cybernetic

They're the result of early indoctrination, through TIM's convoluted contact with a Reaper artefact that somehow involved Saren and Saren's brother.

It's in one of the novels.

Shepard's eyes are exactly the same.

No they're not.

The origin of TIM's eyes are explained in the comics. They're turian implants.

Maybe TIM used Shepard's name and Collector destruction to promote a recruiting campaign from human colonies.

Dos anyone actually think Cerberus could survive without at least some support from high elements of the Alliance military and government. Cerberus dos the research that the Alliance government would like to be able to do but can not because of politics both inside and outside of the Alliance. Some occasional very public raids of Cerberus bases to appease the public and they get tech that could not be developed officially but freed it from Cerberus control.

Cerberus is completely deniable by the Alliance government as rouge independent group. All they have to is look the other way unless Cerberus dos something that they have to publicly take action agenest

Yes, they are.

I've gone through the Evolution comic again, back to back.

There's no such thing as turian implants (no idea why there would be, really.. why would the turians implant Jack?).

However, after contact with the Reaper Monolith, Harper's eyes turn that blue we all know. He's also changed in other ways (hence the comics' title, Evolution) with the end result being The Illusive Man.

It's also worth noting that Jack is exposed to the monolith just as much as Saren Artorius - and we all know how he eventually turned up..

So, yeah. TIM's eyes shine because he bad.

My general concern is just how much Cerberus just makes Shepard almost look like a demigod of sorts just mowing down all of Cerberus troops. They had all these potential troops and such which could have supported Shepard in ME2 and yet nope. Cerberus troops just ends up looking like a bunch of inexperienced people picked off the streets looking for a job or even clones (which might be a possibility) that just have lots of technology to make up for their lack of experience.

As much as Bioware says they are trying to make Shepard look more human, their story from my current point of view just makes Shepard look like a demigod.

He touches the monolith, his eyes explode, the turians give him cybernetic ones.

It's quite silly but that's the story.

Oh lord. Please tell me you're not saying you think TIM is 'bad' because you think he's been inoctrinated all along. Please tell me you're not that stupid.

TIM does get indoctrinated, but only in ME3. If he was indoctrinated the whole time that'd contradict EVERYTHING he has done.

Just was thinking about this, dont know if its relevant:

Before ME2 was announced, people were discussing how Cerberus (cant remember where we got this from at the time) had agents in every level of galactic politics.(there were people saying the Turian Councilor might be a Cerberus agent also) think about that for a second. There were even people who claimed Captain Anderson was a secret Cerberus Agent and we might have to fight him in ME2.

I know what the justification for Cerberus being the main antagonist in ME3 is. I think its meh, but to think they are weak after

1. UPGRADING a ship, that everyone considered top of the line, like beyond great stealth ship in ME1, taking everything it had and basically doubling it.....The people who whitewash this go and say oh well they had Alliance agents giving them info....truth is building the Normandy SR1 probably cost like....a LOT of money :D

2. Bringing a man back to life, after being dead for months, and possibly dismembered.

You did say earlier that the comics explained it, so that's where I looked for the answer.

Bleah, one more reason not to touch the ME novels.

At which point I'll ask you to not being such an ass. I did not insult you, so please extend me the same courtesy.

I did not say he's wholly indoctrinated, I said "early signs" and I compared him to Saren. Who wasn't fully indoctrinated at first, and found a shred of willpower left even when he was riddled with Sovereign cybernetics.

It's undeniable the monolith changed Jack (the visions, the enhanced abilities) so if anything, I find TIM to be an even more awesome character if he has been fighting his inner demons for so long until he finally succumbs.

I think Evolution was just a terrible idea. It wasn't a necessary retcon of the FCW and it wasn't necessary to explain the origins of Cerberus or TIM's motivations. It's horrible.
