Cerberus has tons of money and many different sources of information. Use both wisely and you can get a lot done in a very short period of time.

A ton of money is an understatment. If they were able to spend unknown billions on Shepard and not even make a dent in their profits, I don't see money even being a thought to them.

I think Evolution was just a terrible idea. It wasn't a necessary retcon of the FCW and it wasn't necessary to explain the origins of Cerberus or TIM's motivations. It's horrible.

While I found the story quite deplorable, I wouldn't say that it was a retcon of the First Contact War. It's just a Turian general with ulterior motives acting during the war.

As for TIM and Cerberus, mhm, can't say it was much of an origin story really. They got TIM a connection to the Reapers, which is really all they wanted to do.

Consider the Blue suns, Blood pack...And the yellow one. Cerberus has several times the recources of those organisations, Reaper tech and thousands of terified humans most likley promised sanctuary by TIM.

Unless BioWare ripped a page out of Attack of the Clones, Cerberus becoming so powerful to be FORTY PERCENT (almost half!?) of the enemies you're fighting is ridiculous, especially after the events of ME2 and Retribution.

Maybe forcing the inhabitants of Omega to become shock troops through Reaper/Collector tech, which can be explained with Invasion would make sense... but even then... it's spotty. This better be covered in the game.

It's been bugging me since we first saw Cerberus units on Sur'Kesh 8 months ago.

Eclipse.

And
with Cerberus in control of Omega, with its sizable human population
(and a generally more hardened and independent type of human, too),
that's quite the recruitment pool.

It's not ridiculous, because it's an interpretation error.

It's not that Cerberus is EVERYWHERE, everytime, all the time - it's that Cerberus is likely to be after Shepard. With their extensive information network, and their likely inroads into Alliance secrets, it wouldn't be hard for them to track the Normandy's missions.

And you can bet the Omega plot point is valid, too.

As I recall, EDI said it took most of Cerberus's funds to create the SR2. Between that and rebuilding Shepard, I'd expect them to be just about broke. But going beyond that to fund an invasion of Omega? Wasn't the Council even afraid of going to war with the Terminus systems? And who is there to go to war with if not Blood Pack, Eclipse, and Blue Suns? With some argument to be made that those organizations are in disarray after Shepard killed off the Blood Pack and Blue Suns leadership.

You are assuming that EDI has the full facts on everything, where it more likely she/it just had enough info to past muster/convence Shepard to do what TIM wanted him to do.

As for invading Omega, how do we know that the TIM hasn't done some kind of deal with or indoctrined them instead of invading?

Because there was a 4 series comics on it ;) The end result being SPOILERS

that Cerberus is in firm military control of the station and Aria has ran away to find a means of retaking Omega. And when I say firm military control, I mean enough ships to demolish the station bit by bit (paraphrase) and enough troopers to fight the Blood Pack, Eclipse, Blue Suns AND Aria's gang to a standstill.
