Well one of the devs said there will be some minigame to escape from a Reaper.

I sure hope the mini-game isn't what's in the video.

I do that enough in Total War games...

That was what was in the video.  It's completely underwhelming but there it is.

im not saying its ture but a shot in the dark.

thing is the guy in the video didnt let the reapers get him so really it is still unanswered

But you could 'pilot' the ship like that in ME 2 as well...

If the minigame is just to get to the nearest Relay...<_<

It's not.  The guy who played a build stated that you get a game over screen if they catch you.  That's the minigame.

He also stated "I'd give it no more than 85% based on that" so that's in addition to his runthrough of the demo.

We shall be rival English literacy professors.

This is one peculiar subject at hand, yes indeed. *Grabs shotgun*

I'm goin' with... you get a game over if the Reapers touch you. I really don't see any reason to get ahead of myself on expectations from a simple feature such as this. In fact, as it stands this is exactly how I envisioned it. Nothing ridiculously awesome. Just another little feature.

And yeah, it's nothing amazing, but it's what I expected, because I didn't get my hopes sky-high, and so I'm... reasonably satisfied.

Now if it turns out there's more to it, well, I'll just be pleasantly surprised.

I hate Colin. So much. He's part of the reason I stopped visiting IGN and shifted to Gameinformer for all my news.

I will have a very hard time considering anything he says as legitimate. I'll wait for other outlets (RPS, Eurogamer, etc) to come out with their own reviews.

If that's the minigame, well, it's better than bringing up a screen where you have to match nodes or something tedious.

So if Colin says it's good, it's actually bad. Or if it's a bad feature, it's good?

This guy sounds extremely bias. I don't doubt that he will give ME3 at least a 9 out of 10.

-Pretty much this.

I thought about creating a thread to discuss how crappy the whole scanning thing is now but I'll wait to see if it gets better, I seriously doubt it won't but might as well wait.

The problem with the scanning in the new system is that there are two scanning systems and the individual planet scanning system now is completely redundant. It's painfully obvious that Bioware didn't know how to handle this. The probing system is not even a timesink now as you already know where the target is and you have unlimited probes. They should have left the larger scan in place and completely scrapped the individual planet probing as it serves absolutely no purpose now.

Then the problem I have with the Reaper minigame is that there's no delay tactic you can do to stall the Reapers and it's literally a chase sequence.  It's just so uninspired.

Unless there's something seriously, seriously wrong with ME3, very few major outlets are going to give it less than a 9. A couple will be edgy and give it a 6 (there may be a bit of a pun in that statement yet; just you wait and see) to be different.

well dont forget we only got a small taste of it my friend.

if i remember correctly did the devs say when you scan things now it can also involve rescue missions?

Instead of actually giving real content we get another Scanning Mini Game to waste pointless time and artifically instead the gameplay. Why create missions around the concept of War Assets when you can tack on a stupid mini game from the previous game.

Mako Sucked - Removed.
Ore Scanning Sucked Horribly - Not, lets not remove it. Lets make so you have to redundantly scan twice and lets throw in reapers to artifically extend game lenght. Good Job BioWare. Your "Amazing" talent shows yet again.

I doubt anything will give it a 6. ME2 didn't have anything that low.

But why do we need the planet scanning part?  Why not just make it automatic?  I mean it's not like you're doing anything anyway.

I'm kinda pissed about this too.  It's literally one of the most uncreative ways they could have gone about this.  While I wanted freeroaming back, I would have swallowed an alternative down if it had been atleast a little fun.  This is just a boring chase scene.

You're right, I should rephrase. One, maaaybe two, might be Edge-y and give it a 6.

No, when I'm trolling it's a more subtle charm. Thanks for inquiring, however.
