Jessica Chobot is in Mass Effect 3, there's no way they'd give this game a bad score.

That's moronic, She hardly even works there anymore.

Considering it's IGN, A 10/10 is imminent.

Even though IGN is completely bonkers about ME, I predict a 9.5.

I would've said the same, but they gave Uncharted 3 a perfect 10 even though it was considerably less pollished than Uncharted 2 (which was 9.5'd).

AWESOME. Was really annoyed at that.

When you go to where the review is linked it says this:

"Part two of our Mass Effect 3 Review in Progress contains a gigantic 3,500 word Q&A. See if your question was answered, and then ask more!"

but it hasn't been updated yet... >.<

On war assets and Exploration
Now, your focus apart from questing is on developing and retaining precious war assets while scanning the known galaxy's solar systems for a much more limited array of planets to land on, items to find and more.

Didn't notice this before. That's disappointing.

You can also do side quests for war assets.

A Q&A should be interesting, especially since it will be the first professional Q&A done without a bioware employee xD

"One of the more unfortunate aspects of Mass Effect 3, therefore, is that a lot of the game's side quest have very little to do with that larger Reaper threat, and have more to do with ancillary tasks. Some of these tasks -- such as N7 missions -- do connect to the game's main narrative, but there's enough disconnected from the main story that many things admittedly seem out of place. "

Oh ffs bioware.

I fail to see the issue here. Side mission in Mass effect 1 had no connection to Saren's plot and Mass Effect 2's side mission had nothing to do with the suicide mission either.

Neither of those two games took place during a galaxy wide war against an unstoppable force.

They mention that in the review, things have never been THIS bad... and yet you're still doing fetch quests

The problem?
Remove that and half of the BSN will whine.
I saw this coming, same with the whole thing of buying stuff. It's pointless and unrealistic. But hey!... If you can't buy something or spend time searching for pointless texts, then this game is not a RPG and it's just a mindless shooter made for CoD fans!

This was the perfect opportunity to get rid of all the usual filler that rpgs are crammed with and have side quests that actually add something to the story. Unfortunately it looks like we're still stuck doing people's errands.

Is it sad I was worried there would be too many sidequests related to the main quest?

I'm just worried for timed- side quests... its interesting but that would prove to be annoying in the long run...

You're right, the first game took place in a race to stop Saren from bringing an unstoppable force to galaxy and Mass Effect 2 had you priming a team in a race to stop the collectors from sweeping up every human colony and eventually earth.

I can't imagine anyone actually liked those in the previous game, so I'm not sure what the rationale for having more of them is.
