Nova faking?

This guy is doing the ainimation for nova, but cancelling it before it hits. Now, this means no shields are lost and no damage is dealt.
What's the point of this then, if you don't do anything? Well, Nova has immunity frames, meaning you don't take damage while doing the animation. With the 100% shields and immunity frames, when he does get hit, he's not likely to die (he'l lose shields at most), and can just stay immune until charge recharges.
So... Hello super tank vanguard?

Seriously... And it looks badass when your doing it. Seems like that needs to be hotpatched.
Why would they. It's not a bug, it's feature. Same for the claymore reload trick.

It's a demo. We don't know if this stuff is in the release version, or been fixed yet.
But it works now, and thats the point of this thread (and I bet it'll work on release).
And yes, it's a bug, but a damn useful one.

I would like Bioware to comment on this and patching in general to see if they will address balance issues and bugs in MP or simply let players learn to exploit this bug till they are able to solo gold by doing so.

I hope you are joking. If this is a bug, then your worse than that bastard who hacked the n7 leader boards to get to ranking 180.
By exploiting this knowingly your cheating. End of story

Well, you have to be flawless with the controls because allowing a 10% barrier Nova to go off while below 50% health is instant death...

Not really, a lot of competitive fighting games has these exploits.
One that pops in my head is wave dashing in super smash bros melee, you had to be able to practice to do it, and every competitive game featured it, if you didn't do it, you were at a disadvantage. The competitive scene embraced being able to do it as a skill.
In fact, a better comparison for everybody here would be claymore reload trick. It was a trick to make it reload faster, took some practice and appeared to be a bug, the developers then announced it was intentional, and actually made the gun be pretty good.

If this is a bug it's cheating, if it's like the claymore reload and working as intended it's overpowered but not cheating.
So until a dev says the inteded this i consider it cheating.

Nice overreaction to a noncompetitive exploit. If it means I can stay alive long enough to revive teammates and distract Atlas mechs, I'm going to use it.Butthead11 wrote...

Guilty until proven innocent?
If you want to regard it as a bug, fine, but don't start saying someone who uses it is worse than some who hacked their rating, then call them a cheater.

But they are cheating.
This kinda of stuff happens in PVE mmos all the time, and do you know what happens to players who exploit bugs inorder to do this kind of thing? Mass bans.
This is obviously not intended, your exploitintng nova in a way it's not meant to be used. and anyone could see this is a very unfair advantage and will likley start being used by tons of vanguards now that it's made it's way to the forums.
Just because you can do something dosen't mean you should.
