For me it largely depends on if enemies become largely immune to powers on Insanity when shielded as it was in ME2. My canon character is a Soldier but I'm getting rather tired of playing as one -- I 300-style Spartan charged through the game whilst not being able to find a single **** to give. I searched hard too. I unlocked everything in the game.
Perhaps Vanguard or Infiltrator. I'd like to try Engineer but if Gold in multiplayer is any example, the turret and drone will be little more than a distraction.
How about you guys?
Which class will you use for your first Insanity run?

Adept since they appear to not suck terribly bad this time around.

After playing the MP I feel like I could run my main vanguard and not die all the time like in ME2.

Will their powers work properly on insanity or will it be like ME2 (pissing into the wind)?Graunt wrote...

Sentinel all the way. On a side note, getting tired of the crybabies whining about tech armor.

Sentinel has been my Insanity level character in the past, I don't see why it should change in ME3.

I *would* have said Sentinel because I
Sentinel but I am unhappy with the new Tech Armor so Vanguard.

My one and only Shepard who is a Soldier. Got to have some major fire power if I want to get through insanity alive.

Adept or Vanguard.
Probably Adept.

My Shepard has always been quite Adept.

Soldier. It is my "default" class.
Adept was fine in ME2 btw. Not god mode like in ME1 but basically balanced with all the other classes.

my first run is going to be with my canon Shepard....a soldier. I did 3 runs with her on ME1...3 more on ME2.... after i get to level 60 in ME3...im switching over to ADEPT and doing an insanity run.

Going to bludgen through with an adept. Played the first two as a biotic so why screw with a good thing?

Did you play the SP ME3 demo on Insanity?ShykeX wrote...

My alternate Shep's class - Infiltrator.
Main Shep is sentinel but not digging it nearly as much in Me3. Infiltrator and engineer kick ass, and since I don't see my Shep as a nerdy tech guy, infiltrator it is. Can't wait.

They never have?
As for the OP -- Probably and Adept or Vanguard. I love biotics.

Soldier, definitely--if I'm grabbing my ankles for that level of punishment, I want a massive health bonus, geth shield boost, and every weapon I can lay hand on.
Vanguard is a close second, though--biotic charge has gotten me out of more trouble more times than I can count.

They're utterly useless in ME2 if you're playing on insanity. Luckily that issue seems to have been addressed.strive wrote...

Infiltrator but then again i only play on insanity (well except in ME1 with its boring and not very hard immunity spam)

Infiltrator w/ power cloak. I fail to see how this class with this cloak evolution can lose ever.

No they're not. An Adept can be as effective as any class save for the holy trinity of Claymore Vanguard, Mattock Soldier and Assault Sentinel.

I don't know yet, probably a Sentinel because they're by far the most useful.
