Saw someone talking about wanting the game to be a 5 party piece and my reply was as follows:

For me "Dog" should not take a full slot, would like him to be with you by default like a summon you can turn on and off through a "Dog Whistle" talent you get when you recruit him.

Did some looking and not seeing it so, practical or completely impractical as a "Mod" to artificially give you a 5 person (presuming you + dog make 2) party?

Was hoping to get a clarification before possibly wasting many hours looking into this, I take it nobody is in the position to be able to state one way or the other at this time?

I believe this is easily done with the following console command (no mod needed):

"runscript zz_addparty dog"

If it's not "dog" it's a number between 0 and 12. The only thing is that you won't have any banter or other interaction options with added party members this way. So just use the command after entering each new area.

Yup, the reason to look at this from the perspective of making it a mod was as a summon he will have a portrait set to the right of the PC and also whether its possibly to retain his interactions in this state.
