I think the worst character in the Mass Effect series is definietly Kadien...he really don't have that much personality. I hope they improve on him in Mass Effect 3....cuz I don't know why they picked him and Ashely for a squad member when they could of picked better characters or made a new character

Which doesn't mean I cannot be satisfied with my characters participation in ME3. In the end, what I want is not quantity, is quality.

because they dont represent certain ideals they'd like to see reflected.

take jack for example. most people want a pure, innocent, tame waifu-type to tag along. jack is the polar opposite. ergo, 'she's a **** and i hate her, also she's shallow'. it works out both ways considering that tali is one of the more popular characters.

How come there are never any amusing characters in the ME series? Would appreciate a sort of Minsc (from BG), a big stupid but loveable brute, or some eccentrically witty character like Jan Jansen (from BG2). I think it would be good to have one or two light-hearted characters that can -occasionally- give you a bit of relief from the seriousness and melodrama.

I have to admit, I find many characters in ME series to be quite forgettable. David Anderson and the Illusive Man are perhaps the two of the few exceptions I can think of.

In terms of female love interests, I suppose Liara, Ashley and Miranda were okay. But again, not really that interesting.

Maybe it makes them feel better? I dunno. All I know is that if I don't find a particular character awesome/interesting, I just accept they're there and ignore them. Loving/liking a video game character is easy and fun, but hating (hell, even strongly disliking) must be some sort of a complex art form I haven't mastered yet.

No hate but I found Jack to be incredibly obnoxious.

I'm also kinda curious if the Tali hate is from how her fanbase is or based on the character.

We will see in Mass Effect 3. I only have Tali, Legion, and Garrus left. I dont see the game putting focus on characters that are dead.

I don't hate characters, I just dislike them, for example jack, she can seem to get hold of her self, all she want's to do is kill people, wtf? then we have jacob, I'm no racist , but his loyalty mission was a bit crappy, also you known those files that shadow broker had on cerberus and that kidnapped child, right wasn't that jack?

Forgive me if I don't. I see this as an unnecessary (and silly) kind of hostility which is often aimed not only at the characters themselves but also at their fans, and that makes me cringe. And as a semanticist I guess I just don't like it when people abuse certain very strong words, such as "hate". Anyone is welcome to disagree, of course.
