Lol this topics amusing, it's a mix bag of opinions, depends on the type of person one is lol, it pretty much highlights how people judge in reality can be transferred to a video game.

I personally treat mass effect like it should be, a story, it's interesting to check every characters story and how they(race) impacts the mass effect universe.

But if I were to dislike anyone it would be ambassador udina :-)

I don't hate anyone, I like or dislike everyone in some capacity.

I dislike Ashley, Tali, Jack, Morinth, Balak, a few miscellaneous characters, and possibly Kasumi.

He is too goody goody like hes a Jedi from swtor, really annoying especially in me2 when you run into him on the collector area, i wanted to give him a dishonorable death with a bullet in the back of his head as he leaves. hopefully a krogan romances him and teabags him with his 4 balls

This is the one game where I can safely say there aren't any characters I dislike

Don't hate anybody, but Jacob, Tali, and Thane are all quite bland and one-dimensional. I really hope they have something fun planned for Tali in ME3 given her prominent role, and don't take the Tali fans' word for it that she's as good as she needs to be, already. Being quirky and endearing an interesting character does not make.

Mordin - Guilthy Doctor, shallow, however no direct reason to hate him.

Characters I enjoy:
Kasumi - Shallow, a typical asian ninja chick. However, I like her devious nature.
Tali - Tech Chick, stereotype but one of the last characters not to be over sexualized.
Legion -  I love the whole AI thing going on.. and cold personality.

Characters to hit my "hate" list:
EDI - Mass Effects version of a SexBot.. stupid BioWare.. Over Sexualizing an AI.
Ashley - Over Sexualized for male audience, good job again BioWare. Start out with a strong female cast and then turn them into Eye Candy for your male viewers. Guess this what happens when you turn corporate.

So the male characters targetted at women are "eyecandy".

But the female characters targetted at males are "oversexualised".

BTW, I don't really hate any character, but if there was one character that could make me immensly delighted by her death or complete absence from the series, it would be Tali.

I don't hate any squaddies. But dislike:
-Jack: Too wild and unpredictable. Her "woe is me" personality is annoying as well.
-Kaidan: Don't know why, just never got into this character.

Hate:
-Balak: Oh my ****ing God Balak
-Admiral Qwib Qwib: Won't even dignify him with his real name
-Turian Councilor: Generally don't like the Council

People I love to hate:
-Illusive Man: Such an awesome bad guy. Well done Bioware.
-Conrad Verner: So pathetic. So hilarious.
-Admiral Xen: Manipulative, but her plan seems most beneficial to her people so I can't fault her.
-Original Shadow Broker: 'nuff said
-Admiral Hackett: Hated being his errand boy but the man seems to be oozing bad assery

I do not hate main characters. The character I like less is probably Morinth as I canno't bring myself to let her live. I'm also pretty much indifferent to the human crew, I'm more interested by Chakwas' whereabouts than any of them.

I did hate ME2 Shadow Broker compared to ME1 Shadow Broker that I loved.
