Characters I Hate:
Jacob - Confused Soldier, to cliche. Boring character all around.
Miranda - Miss Perfect to cater to the male crowd and give them eyecandy.
Liara - A character that had a 180 In personality to shoehorn her into a DLC.
Wrex - Klingon.. To much chest pounding.. very shallow character.
Grunt - Even worse than Wrex.
Zaeed - Hardcorez Merc.. Worthless character.
Jack - Hardcore ****. Shallow character.
Kaiden - Whiner, Killed Him because he is a male and a whiner. His character is boring as hell.
Garrus - I iz Vigilante cop.. boring character.
Characters I don't Hate or Like:
Samara - Shallow character.. /shrug.
Thane - He is alright, to much Sherlock Holmes though. A character made for females to have eyecandy. Can't say it worked.
Mordin - Guilthy Doctor, shallow, however no direct reason to hate him.
Characters I enjoy:
Kasumi - Shallow, a typical asian ninja chick. However, I like her devious nature.
Tali - Tech Chick, stereotype but one of the last characters not to be over sexualized.
Legion - I love the whole AI thing going on.. and cold personality.
Characters to hit my "hate" list:
EDI - Mass Effects version of a SexBot.. stupid BioWare.. Over Sexualizing an AI.
Ashley - Over Sexualized for male audience, good job again BioWare. Start out with a strong female cast and then turn them into Eye Candy for your male viewers. Guess this what happens when you turn corporate.
Pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffh, women.
Hate is strong with this one, maybe a bit of loving would do world of wonders?

Really? OP's phrasing here doesn't bother anyone else? EDIT* except ElementL09, bravo.
Character hate threads are dumb enough without blatant racism. White chicks or alien chicks with rockin' hips are worthy of being called by their names but the "black guy" isn't? This world and the people.
Yeah this bothered me too as you can see my response on page 6. I won't ignore it, I reported the OP and this shouldn't be tolerated. It's funny he didn't say crazy WHITE chick, Wierd russian sounding evirosuit chick, but felt it necessary to say black guy. Interesting.
OP grow some balls and just say how you feel. If you have a problem with black people just say it and stop being a B**** hiding behind your questionable wording and videogames.
In fact, just get some confidence and say it blatantly, Coward.
People still think racism makes sense. Shows how stupid humanity can be.
you are a moron as well, just because he is black means i have to like him as a character? i guess my fav superhero of all time Spawn, isn't a black guy? grow up and pull your head out of your ass
So typical. it is easy to google him and get his name, yet you felt it appropriate to just wing it huh?
How can you hate someone you don't even know? You know Jack by her name and she was really subject zero for a large part of the game, Jacob introduced himself to you right after the beginning credits...
Yeah Im not falling for it... And you gave a black woman $10??? who the **** cares? I gave a white child some money too, do I get a damned bisquit too??? hell no, I didn't see her as a white child, I saw her as a child and I asked her name too.

Another derogatory term referring to black people. From similar posts from the guy I'm starting to think Cmdr Pwn is racist. It's whatever though.Arppis wrote...

Jacob had a halfway good storyline going with his father and everything, but they just didn't follow through enough to make me like him. Even bringing him along through one whole playthrough didn't help.
Ashley... The way she was introduced made me WANT to like her. Picked her up by saving her in the first mission, pretty cool right? Then I actually talked to her... sigh. The xenophobia, the religious stuff... it was just too much.

Jacob has no significant role, he is just a starting character that really doesnt have any personality and just whines and complains, his skin color has nothing to do with it. I didnt know his name because i stopped dealing with him after one conversation. so i had to describe him with the only obvious trait that made him unique compared to the other characters.

Yeah seriously. That could have been the begining of Jacob actually letting his daddy issues come out.
But instead he went straight back into "Nah, I'm good".
He's exactly the kind of person I'd want under my command.
But not the type of character I want in a story-driven game.

If you are being honest, then no harm no foul, total misunderstanding.
Yet your Original posts just screams racism. Proof is that I am not the only one who got that vibe.

Morinth will definitely be one of the characters I watch for in ME3, because if she is what the initial leak suggested, she'd be one of the biggest dissappointments of the ME series: a companion character so token that her only character-specific ambiant dialogue was a mistake. And of course, Nef just hits all my buttons the wrong way as far as sympathy ploys go...daqs wrote...
Samara openly states that she will kill Shepard after the mission is complete if the Commander makes her do anything "dishonorable". Many Renegade actions would, obviously, qualify. Bringing Morinth onto the team would neatly solve that problem preemptively.Hotdog3D wrote...
I also didn't really like Jacob or Miranda that much and hated Mornith. No idea why they made her available as squadmate it was ridiculous even for renegade Shepard.
With that said, I wish she actually had had a bit more development as a character, and that she wasn't mostly just one-dimensional evil.
Amoral characters can be quite interesting, but Bioware struggles to paint 'amoral' as anything but 'sadistic/cruel/evil.'
Funny thing is, though, I won't hate the character: I hate Bioware's handling of the character, and criticize Bioware. More than anything else, charicatures annoy me.
That's one reason I 'hate' Udina and Al-Jilani: not because they're antagonistic towards Shepard, but because they became characatures of hostility no matter what. In ME1, you could even win Udina's 'approval' for the 'right' Big Decisions, while you could come off well with Al-Jilani and even have Hackett tell you that she's on your side now.
In ME2, they became ****s towards you regardless, simply to be hated. It's like the Turian Councilor, except you could actually get along well with them in ME1. Udina's cynicism had a political basis, not simply stick-in-ass syndrome, and Al-Jilani actually asked some of the most probing, tricky questions of the game.
They would have been excellent sources of validation for players who did things they might have agreed with. Like letting the Council die.

I really don't like Morinth. Anyone who kills to get kicks isn't someone I'd let walk free for long. She's just too selfish for me to like her. Samara isn't much better, but atleast she doesn't NEED to kill and she usualy attacks people who deserve it.
Lesser evil, I guess.
But anyhows, let's move on.

Ashley, because of what happened in ME 2 how she labels you a traitor after everything you've done for everyone. Diana due to her appearance, she looks exactly like Chobot which disconnects me from the Mass Effect universe and brings me back to reality thinking 'Oh hey.. it's that IGN chick who licks handhelds for a living... '.
Now for someone I dislike, that would have to go to Morinth. She's nothing but a fake, her goals/personality are selfish and she has the constant need to kill people for 'pure enjoyment'.

Given all the Jabob hate, I have to say I liked him. Sure, hes the square jawed Dudely Do Right character of ME2, but he does it without being anywhere near as annoying/whiny as Kaidan or for that matter Alistair from DAO. He's relatively motivated, postive and balanced, doesnt whine or whinge about his strife every time you make the mistake of talking to him. Kaidan on the other hand seems to start every sentence with a sigh.
Zaeed is an odd character - I rarely use him in my squad, but I like the character with his war stories and his contented, self confident attitude. You dont ever get the sense youd need to mollycoddle him and tuck him into bed at night the same way you get with the rest of the emos on the Normandy that pass for deep characters.
