First of all, this is the demo, have you played the release? The demo appears to be an older build of the game. Second, this is beating the dead horse.

According to someone who extracted files from the demo the build is from January 18th. That's not that old.

Demo is not a beta. Demo is something that represents the final product so that the customer can decide whether to buy the product.

I bet you ten bucks Bioware is going to eventually make a patch sometime this year for it.

I don't think the series has ever had stellar lip syncing.

Hell, I think Dragon Age: Origins had better lip syncing than any of the ME games. You guys shouldn't expect perfect lip syncing with this sort of technology. They are pushing the limits of the Unreal engine and some variants aren't going to perform well with this sort of high demand.

Whiners.

Maybe they'll patch the lip syncing like CDProjekt did for The Witcher 2.

I hope you're not attached those ten dollars because you're 99.99% going to lose that bet.

EA/Bioware Standard Dictionary:

"Sometime this year"
- Holiday, 2012, most likely after the Mayan apocalypse.

There better be a very good explanation for not having acceptable lipsync and animations especially for beign in development since 2010
2003 Comparison

How about comparing it to Mass Effect 2, a game BioWare actually developed, before calling it "worse", and not a totally completely game by a totally different developer? Might as well try and compare it to Pixar to try and make your point.... whatever that is.

how hard is for bioware to fix lyp sync issues and have the sound properly timed in cutscenes?

I mean it is absurd the fact that ME2 had these issues, was never patched, and now ME3 still has them? No, really... how hard are these things? I asking seriously now, no sarcasm involved... Is there something technical about it? because I havent seen any other game with that specific problem out there. Maybe some games sometimes will have sound skipping or something, but it happens rarely. In ME2 it happened all the time pretty much... and now ME3 has it? Why?

Well on the PS3 it was particularly bad. They just never bothered to patch it afterwards. I don't know how it was on the PC or Xbox.

No, Bob, to you, everything BioWare does is bad. So yeah, not really caring what you think here.

This BLOWS my mind. How do you screw up lip syncing on a game with mostly talking? This should have been one of their highest priorities and finalized very early on.

This too. It goes for animations as well, if a games entirely in third person, your animations should be a priority.

I agree.  I hope the main game is better, demo was a letdown in this regard.

It's all in the future and aliens and stuff! Our minds can't comprehend what is being said and somehow it magically transforms into English, so it isn't the lip-sync that is off, it's our minds being slow in comprehending.

I like your idea. It actually makes sense! *hands them a cookie*

What do you expect them to do? Maybe they can slow down or speed up the VAing, but then you'd all complain about it being too slow or too fast. I'm not completly sure how Bioware does theirs, but lip syncing is hard to do. Every actor says their lines differently.

Anyway, it actually looks pretty good in the Xbox demo, and I'm a game designer. The little things usually bug me alot because of it.
Actually, I remeber thinking "Wow, this lip syncing is pretty decent."

No just wanting a level of quality is too much for you. If a small compnay like Rockstady or Cdprojekt can get it right, why is it so hard for Bioware?

BZZT! Wrong. I was talking to a very specific poster regarding their posting habits, ie: their constant bashing of everything this developer does. I don't think the lip-syncing is up to par either (though it's no WORSE than it was in ME2), but when I say it, it's coming from a guy that can acknowledge that the developer does many other things right. When he says it, it's coming from a guy who can't find a single thing that isn't worthy of tearing down.

But thanks for sticking up for him anyway. Everyone needs a forum-buddy. Forum-bro, forum-pal, someone who has your forum-back. Amirite?

Obviously because I've been saying a lot of good things about ME2.
