Oh I'm sure. So, for example, you looooved the lip-syncing in ME2? lol.

Oh, and not to forget the ME3 gameplay basically being a beefed up version of the ME2 gameplay (that I guess you loved) that you liked so much you keep posting that link to that troll youtube video bashing the "one-button gameplay" of the demo.

Give me a break.

Just like you never mentioned anything good about ME2, or anything this developer was.

Seriously, dude, if you did, even once in a while, your opinions would be taken more seriously around here. As it is, it's pretty clear that you're just a troll with a lot of time on his hands.

Though I have to admit, you're one of the most advanced concern-trolls I've ever witnessed in my years on the interwebs.

Well, when you see lip synch in Red Dead Redemption (and even animations for that matter), it sure is disappointing to see Bioware's job on Mass Effect

No, Bob, to you, everything BioWare does is bad. So yeah, not really caring what you think here.

No just wanting a level of quality is too much for you. If a small compnay like Rockstady or Cdprojekt can get it right, why is it so hard for Bioware?

BZZT! Wrong. I was talking to a very specific poster regarding their posting habits, ie: their constant bashing of everything this developer does. I don't think the lip-syncing is up to par either (though it's no WORSE than it was in ME2), but when I say it, it's coming from a guy that can acknowledge that the developer does many other things right. When he says it, it's coming from a guy who can't find a single thing that isn't worthy of tearing down.

But thanks for sticking up for him anyway. Everyone needs a forum-buddy. Forum-bro, forum-pal, someone who has your forum-back. Amirite?

not really, just stating the facts.

They should have done like Rockstar did in LA Noire, there we can talk lipsync, if bioware would have it that way, ME should have been an 10/10..

LA Noire method would not work at this point. Correct me if I'm wrong but the actors in that game provide both their voice and appearance/face? Meaning, it just wouldn't work unless Bioware are willing to allow almost every character in the ME universe to all of a sudden have a different appearance.

The IGN review is on the PS3 version. The lip-synching could be off because of the drop in frame rate during the game. That will unsynch a lot of things.

And I encourage people to watch characters lips in ME1. Lip-synching was never great.

It was never so bad that I started noticing it before. Something has changed. Not for the better.

I like the game quite a bit and find the lip-synching good, but the low framerates in the PC port are driving me insane (and I have a high-end gaming laptop which runs Skyrim, tyvm). It's like the ME3 PS3 situation in reverse. :P

While searching for a solution to the PC framerate problems (no luck on that), I did see it mentioned in one thread that L.A. Noire was locked at 30 FPS tops because of the facial animation technology that was used. I have no idea whether or not this is true, but I wouldn't play a future game with this technology f the PC version has such horrid framerates.

I want to emphasize that I am enjoying the crime-solving and have almost finished the game, but seriously, I wouldn't pick up another game using this technology if the framerates are this bad again. If there's some developer who can use it AND give me somewhere around 60 FPS in the PC version of a game, then I'd love to see this kind of facial animation & lip-synching again.

looking at this vid I almost cried. The lip syncing in La Noire is basically perfect and on point.

Yeah but do you know how expensive that is to make?

Bioware has practically endless resources at their disposal

If Rockstar can afford it, so can EA

 Thanks EA.

I'm sure that if your ****ty publishing company didn't buy out Bioware we'd still be getting quality titles.

Misplaced blame tbh. Any degredation in quality is BioWare's fault.

Disagree completely.

Have you seen EA/Bioware's profits recently? Pretty sure they make more than Rockstar. Rockstar is always pushing the envelope aka Max Payne 3.

I played ME2 on my PS3 and the sound syncing is horrible in general. The sound is always a half second of more behind the display when speaking or in cutscenes. Given they amount of time BW had to port that game to the PS3 I have zero hope for ME3. The demo syncing was bad too. I have a hard time understanding how such a big studio can't figure out something so elementary.

Well, Take Two owns Rock* actually.  But you're right, EA has larger coffers I'd think.  Especially given that EA tried to buy out Take Two for 2 billion dollars prior to GTA4 coming out.

PC version here...

It actually seems to me like the audio is either being played too early or too late in relation to the lip-sync. Varies with each line but seems consistent across the whole dialogue. Once or twice it was spot on but not often.

Didn't see a bug report on this... perhaps there should be one.

PC version here too, just started playing and the lip sync issues are very distracting. It seems to be happening globally, so surely a patch can be made to change the dialogue offset to make it all match up again.

Hope this gets cleared up. Luckily I have time to wait since I still have to get through ME2 for the first time.

Yep, being playing quite a few hours and had to come check. Same issue here.

Voice lip-sync in cut-scenes is about half a second (10-12 frames) too late for the animation for me.
Or to put it another way, the voice-over audio needs to start about 10-12 frames earlier for me, for each animation.

I have an overclocked beast running SLI.

If the lipsync bugs you, word of advice.

Steer clear of Alan Wake.
Good game, but OMG the cutscene lipsync

They probably put a bit of effort into analysing the speech for animation keying in the last 2 games. It seems like they cheaped out and used a low complexity auto-sync for talking this time

It could even be as simple as they changed the tool used to do it but it wasn't as good quality

This lip sync issue has made me stop playing the game in anticipation of the patch (which im not sure when it will be released, or even if it will be sorted). I'm figuring it will be sorted however.
