We can't. The Reapers have been built up to insanely high levels of power to the point that nothing short of a DEM or arbitrarily weakening them for no reason could defeat them. The only way to end the game while being true to lore and canon is to have the Reapers win.

Didn't we have another thread where a bunch of people thought the protheans built the relays? How is it that "fans" don't understand basic facts about the series?
As for the topic, Bio blew their best chance at a non-DEM ending when they allowed Paragon Shepard to blow up the Collector base. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
