I don't understand.. what happened, Bioware? ME2 was a pretty big leap up from ME1.. it sounds like ME3 is a regress.

I've imagined it due to the fact that they're doing far better AI, groundbreakking battles and wide envoirment so i'm willing to forget and forgive

That sounds more like Lagrim...

In response to the 'dragon invading realm' post.

It's not. The game looks better, but marginally. And what happened was probably BW telling you before ME2 even launched that that engine would be the base of ME3. I don't know why people expected a major overhaul.

Really? You didn't find the other BW games to be great story wise?

BW's story in games have always been mediocre. BW games are more character driven, rather than story. But they are mediocre, nonethless.

I guess the signs are great but.. do people still believe official reviews? :) Even when they're not incompetent or blatantly biased, you have to wonder at their objectivity.

KotOR technically had larger levels. Of course, there were only half a dozen planets you could 'land' on.

And user reviews on Metacritic/Amazon aren't more objective than the 'official' ones. At least they don't overreact to small issues or start insulting the developers.

You mean like the positive reviews from DA2. We all know how much those reviews are worth.

Depends on the reviewer.

I personally have never heard of Gamestar so I'll sit on the fence until I play the game I myself.

If it were PC Gamer, I'd flatly disbelieve anything they said, even if it sounded good. Any publication that gives something like DA2 a 94% rating is either staffed by fanbois or simply doesn't know how to review a game.

Okay, that sounds promising. I didn't want to read any story-related comments; I'll wait what criticism other people have.

91 hours??!?!

How the hell can ANY game take that long?

Even in insanity when I scanned ALL the planets and did all the sidequests and upgraded everything (main game only) came up to 25 hours.

25h for Insanity and all planet scanned? Wow :D That is fast. You skipped all the dialog ?
But no matter what... you have to be a pretty good player :D kudos :)

I'm still happy that the MQ is about 15 hours long.

25 hours for insanity is NOT impressive....

I'm pretty sure the standard insanity "all planets scanned, everyone loyal" main game is under 20 hours....

each to there own, BUT reading some of the rants on this forum (without actually having played the game) you'd think that Bioware were releasing Sapce Invaders

No one was expecting a major overhaul, but they are saying the game has low polycount, lack of detail and low textures, and that it looks aged. That's pretty serious. ME2 did not have these complaints. Or did it? I don't really remember, but I doubt it.

Excatly, the reviews for DA2 were generally positive yet the game was a disaster.

I neither care these reviews nor take into consideration, i am going to play ME3 whatever they say negatively or positively.

It doesn't say 91h!!!!   It says 25h for main mission or 40h total with all side missions.
Which isn't much really for a good RPG.

It's only worth a score of around 60%

I don't think its totally accurate to say DA2 was a 'disaster'. By Bioware standards it was naff, but by general market standards it was ok.

What was wrong was that the reviews were labelling it as god's gift to the RPG genre. It got the kind of reviews that classics like ME2, Half Life 2 and Starcraft 2 got, despite it being nowhere near that league and having the most mixed fan reaction of virtually any Bioware game.

Many reviewers gave DA2 a positive reviews. In fact, DA2 has more postive reviews than negative reviews. Should I say they all suck now?

Or less. And they gave ME 1 and 2 8's. And Arkham a 9. And Lagrim a 9. And Dragon Age a 9. You can cherry pick inflated review scores for any game from any time period with VG sites.
