While DA2 reviews may have been positive all of the issues present in the final game like the repetetive area's and tired combat were mentioned in reviews. This review on the other hand doesn't mention anything that could seriously lower the quality of the game, as the AI and graphics never bothered me that much.

This is the highest they have given a ME game. So it's still all good.

They gave DA2 87%.....

And?

It's only worth a score of around 60%

I think you forgot to put the words 'in', 'my' and 'opinion' in there somewhere.

Actually, DA2 is one of the few objectively bad games out there.  Unfortunate, but true.

Alot of people in this thread seem to not understand opinions and the point of reviews. Can't say im surprised.

When the "Critic reviews" are twice as high as the user reviews something is wrong.

Your point? Watch/read video game reviews to get info bout the game then come up with your own judgement on whether you should buy the game or not. I never go to metacritic anyway.
If you're already going to buy the game anyway.... then who cares?

Seems like a honest review to me. And simple shooting is a problem in both ME 1/2 anyway. Many thanks for the translation. :wizard:

Um, no...DA2 is not "objectively bad"

Sword of the Stars 2 is objectively bad (doesn't work at release).

DA2 simply is "meh". Worth my money but basically forgettable...

From any other studio (even Obsidian), I think DA2 would've gotten a "shows potential, but needs some work" but this is Bioware...

As another poster mentioned, many of the reviews did make note of the "waves of enemies" and the "repeated environments" yet for many, it wasn't that big a deal...

I still want to know, in detail, what their complaints about the AI were, because the demo (both singleplayer and multiplayer) showed more intelligent AI than ME1 and ME2 combined.

First of all I want to ask why are more people so far reviewing the game on the PS3. Colin Moriarty on IGN is reviewing it and said it had issues. Why isn't it that somebody who played both Mass Effect games playing it with an import Shepard. If its because they don't want to seem biased with a "fanboy" reviewing it then all I ask is look at Greg's Uncharted 3 review...

Maybe they had higher standards? The AI can now climb and aren't stumped by slightly elevated terrain like in a certain other fantasy argh-pee-gee.

In the demo, even though i agree the ai was substantially better than the previous games - mostly more agressive, flanking etc, there were a few occasions when i got round behind them, and even though i was blowing the crap out of them, they ignored me and continued firing over cover at my teammates.

Compare that to games with actually good AI. Crytek games come to mind on that one.

You either are joking or you have not played many games in your life.
DA2 might be disappointing because it was clearly rushed and they cut far to many corners but saying DA2 is bad, means you have to invent a new language to describe the myriad of games that are far, far, far worse than it.

Well I think, for example  if in one game
the AI is very good or actually the best at the current time, than they take this as a standard and compare it to this game on each review.

The things summarized in the OP sound good. No game is perfect, but the list of positive things is long. I do keep my expectations low, though. I still remember the good reviews of DA2 and how the game turned out to be. Still, the list is impressive. :)

This, pretty much. While less retarded than the previous ME games, they are still nothing to write home about.

Crysis 2 isn't exactly known for having good AI. There are even YT videos mocking it, especially the alien AI.

And as for Crysis 1:

Of course, that was from the demo.

i love uncharted 3, but in some areas it didnt look as good as the rest of the game
, the mission where you go to the french castle that cutscene didnt look very good, the textures were really bad in that bit, and there are a few other times, not alot though, but uncharted 2 was more consistant with its beauty

This has lifted my spirits! The demo wasn't great to be honest.
