 Hi folks,

I'm trying to use the Trident Pack HAK from here nwvault.ign.com/View.php & the models are sort of working.

They are showing fine in the toolset except for their colours - no matter what I do in the tint properties, they remain red, blue and green - forks are one colour, shaft another, and so on.

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious here, but does anyone have any idea what's going on?

My Sahuagin and Aquatic elves are getting really fed up of having the same colour tridents & are threatening to change to bog standard spears!

I used one of the trident models in Isle of Shrines (also for aquatic elves - I gave my sahuagins halberds or crossbows). I suspect I rebuilt the tint texture from scratch though.

I use that Trident pack in Jabberwocky and have no issues.  The coloring makes me think that you are missing the textures somehow as that is the missing texture "texture" that the game uses.

Are you sure you have the files installed correctly?

Thanks folks - I've been looking & it seems that it's just one or two tridents that are appearing oddly - the others are fine - unfortunately its the ones I wanted to use.

I'll reinstall the content & see what happens. On the good side, there's a good number of great tridents to choose from, so no real hardship if it doesn't work.

Supplmentary question - Sahuagin get heavy crossbows, but what do Aquatic elves get for missile weapons? I'm using darts, but am well aware they're useless underwater (this is for a beach encounter).

Aquatic elves have special bows that function underwater (although their range is limited).

Are you using the RWS sahuagin model? Keep in mind that it uses the 'dogleg' creature skeleton that lacks a crossbow firing animation. I ended up renaming one of the spear thrust animations, which didn't look nearly as bad as their default attack animation (which looks like they're throwing the bolt rather than firing it).

I would give the elves throwing weapons...under used and under appreciated. If it were my mod, they'd be using shurikins (sp?) that were custom items to be sea stars of doom. :)

Dann - yes - the RWS one - hadn't noticed what the animations were like yet - set a nice encounter up where you arrive on an island, are approached by a small group of sea elves coming out of the water, and the conversation's interrupted by a large group of Sahuagin. Only thing is, I set up a magic potion that triggers a conversation to jump around areas for playtesting & the dratted thing's suddenly not working - weird, as its worked fine in every adventure I've built.

With a bit of luck, it'll be too chaotic to notice the dodgy animation, but at the moment, I haven't seen the encounter in action, so I don't know what's going to happen.

And a friend's just convinced me to try LOTRO.........
