 I use http://social.biowar...utscene_capture
To capture cutscene in my module. And I didn't work- "C:\\game\\Dragon Age\\bin_ship\\daorigins.exe" -autologin=single player -runcutscene=Your_Cutscene.cut

After I activate the exe, I get in some small room but there is no cutscene that I needed.
And how I should create HQ to work for Vegas? I should write

-autologin=single player -runcutscene=Your_Cutscene.cut -forcehighres   -capturemovie=[string CaptureName]

Is it really the single player you want to log in? Otherwise change -autologin=single player to -autologin=YourModuleName.

That didn't work. I started cutscene, but I can't capture it. Why? In exe properties I write
-autologin=mymod -runcutscene=mycut.cut -forcehighres -capturemovie=test

Then I use exe and nothing - dark monitor.

Make sure you are able to preview the cutscene with the simple -runcutscene command.
If the cutscene runs in realtime, then the capture should work as well. (I always test running the cutscene before I capture it)

If it doesn't even preview, go to your addins folder and temporarily rename all your Dragon Age official DLC folders. This seems to interfere with the runcutscene function for some reason.

If all is well, what should happen is that you will see a black screen initially. The capture function causes the game to run the scene frame by frame creating TGA picture files. Depending on the choices you made (default or forced), your computer will render each frame which can take a very long time, meaning you need to wait. Each frame will be displayed as it is rendered.

I usually test scenes (and use this for scratch editing) by choosing low resolution. i.e. -height=600 -width=800 or less, to save time and system load, especially when editing the video. You can re-render in higher resolution once you have good edits by replacing the scratch versions with the higher res TGA files in your video editor.

Once complete, these TGA files will be found in your My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Logs within a newly created folder with your cutscene name.

Crossing my fingers for you to re-appear, seems my command, does not capture and create the TGA files, I've followed several examples in these forums on the actual commands and script to no avail.

I have another thread open with more specific details, just hoping someone will see this and be able to help! Here's to hoping.

POOF! *appears* :D

I'll check your post.

Edit:

Thought I'd add this piece of information,
as I'm getting a wee bit desperate. Cannot make sense of the wiki or
find any helpful tutorials. I do use a steam version of Dragon age, so
editing my .exe properties may not work the same as contemporary
installations.

My batch files, seem to not do what they are
suppose to do, but again this would be the fault of the user. Also I was
wondering perhaps there is some kind of documentation I should read to
understand better and fully grasp the general process and that occurs
when exporting a cutscene,

Anyway I really do hope someone can
lend me a hand. Using fraps, has it's limitations, and I would love to
be able to compile screenshots/frame with veedub.

There are some differences between how things are handled with the Steam version, though I'm not sure exactly how the different folder structure affects the game's tool commands.

Aside from asking for details on what you've attempted to do so far and your results, have you managed to preview your cutscene using the -runcutscene method mentioned above? I've found that's one way to test that it will work right once you run the batch file correctly.

Dahlia! my savior :)

No, none of the commands I try seem to work, I have an in game trigger for the cutscene, and I cannot for the life of me bypass the whole DAO normal start up. LOGO and all that jazz, so this is what I type in a newly created shortcut.

"C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\Dragon Age Ultimate Edition\\bin_ship\\daorigins.exe" -runcutscene=castle.cut -forcehighres -fpsoverride=30 -capturemovie=test -nowarningpopup -autologin=BoFintro

I mean this is only one of the attempts, followed wiki's suggestion and then a couple of others I found in the forums. I do believe it's something to do with steam, I have a hunch that it could be that, google came up empty, for any capture cutscene trouble shooting. grrr

I understand the process of capture/frame, actually i'll take you up on your offer for the skype troubleshooting.

Hi :) I'm in the middle of a few things at the moment, but at first glance you may need to begin the command with autologin. I don't know the order has any bearing, but this is the way I have it for basic purposes:

"E:\\ProgramFiles\\Dragon Age\\bin_ship\\daorigins.exe" -autologin=Single Player -runcutscene=dl02_promo.cut

By the way, do you have Single Player as your extended module in Module properties?

If so you need to log into single player, if not try it with your module name and let me know what happens.

Also, you need to rename any Dragon Age official DLC folders within your addins directory. Otherwise it will definitely not work. (Don't know why)

Edit: I'll bring up the Steam mod issues page I have in my favorites list shortly.

Just typed in what you did, still just opens Steam > bioware intro > main menu.

I didn't have Single Player in extended Module properties. Should I of had? I have it now.

Just renamed all dlc's. Thanks again,

Well we've solved the Steam problem :D

Just replace "enabledeveloperconsole" with the -runcutscene command along with the appropriate switches.
