A Smart Vanguard can use a Sniper Rifle while being a honest vanguard. Sniping the enemies to make charge and shockwave more viable is the main tactic of the Sniper Vanguard.

She is in the game, she is playing an important role, but she is not a squadmate, I don't think she is even a temp-squadmate either.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but atleast she is a total badass in the game! She sounds awesome!

She sort of had to be redesigned. They generally don't let you teach wearing nothing but black leather straps on your torso.

They could have just put her in her loyalty or AAP clothes.

I think Jack had one of the more moving stories in ME2. Glad to have her back. Don't think she's the sniper type though.

im going to say this... all you squad mates from mass 1 and 2 whether full time mates or just guest mates in mass 3 have new or newer looks. The alternate appearance packs you get for mass 3 let you also change the appearance of any and all members you decide to have in your party. And also, you recruit Jack as an asset toward your galactic readiness in the game (if shes alive from game 2 that is) and her STUDENTS that she is teaching in mass 3. She is a potential war asset, not a full time member... sorry. There is even an option to not have Kaden/Ash in you squad if you dont want and reasign him/her to lead ground forces as a war asset. So i think its really for the most part going to be up to you to pick most of who you want as main party members.

Jack is a temp squadmate, the same except for Ash, Liara, Garrus and Tali (for ME2 crew) is my understanding. This includes all LI's.

@epsilon - no, it just seems like bad writing and I happen to like Jack. The sudden change just makes very little sense in the time of 6 mos. to me.

Supposedly there are no temporary squadmates now except Anderson.

I think it depends if you did the Jack Romance or not.
