He does not look like a proper soldier.. Stereotypical Soldier maybe.

There are plenty of soldiers just as big, if not bigger, than Vega. It's not that unusual.

A Navy Admiral once while comparing them to dogs, said this about Marines, "Marines I see as two breeds, Rottweilers and Dobermans, because Marines come in two varieties: big and mean, or skinny and mean. They're aggressive on the attack and tenacious in defense."

Why couldn't the same hold true for the Alliance?

Freddie Prinze Jr. and him not being a s/s LI are two things i cant stand of him.
But as a krogan substitute he fills his role visually well.

But i´ll still miss Grunt.
To this day, people still prefer Wrex over him. He´s such an awesome and renegade character.

He's far from being Fred or butchering Wing Commander (wasn't his fault. It was the studio and script).

Personally, I would have gotten Dwayne Johnson to voice the character (hides from gernades, tomatoes).

I read his dialogue... I wasn't impressed.
Saw & listen to his voice actor... I wasn't impressed.
His character design... I wasn't impressed.

It's safe to say I'll not like or use him. Thank God for Liara, Garrus, Tali, & the prothean.

I still prefer to have a krogan instead of a human in the role.

It's beyond me why they didn't choose to add Grunt again. Garrus and Tali are killable and, yet, they are in the game for those that didn't let them to be killed in the Collector's base.

I got nothing against Vega, but that was a horrible explanation OP. Alistair was the tank in Dragon Age Origins and he had normal body proportions. Aveline was also a tank and the only thing big about her was her jaw line.

it seems like Bioware is pulling out all the stops to make Vega a successful Bro type character. From the demo it looked like Vega was just a straight forward guy, maybe even fill a protege' role for Shepard like Garrus did in Mass Effect 1. I think with the good voice actor and from what i hear about his character development in additioin to his usefulness in combat, he will be a good-great addition.
