 Stop being lazy Bioware.

Oh, right. This is being developed for consoles. 7 year old hardware that was 2 years old when it was first released. ****ing great.

Or a smart selector of who joins. Three human soldiers? Seriously.

A smart selection algorithm that doesn't time out while the data is still being processed, and finds games with only 1 player in the lobby.

I agree. But maybe it's just the demo.

Yup, this game needs a Browser for the matches.

Especially since some Powers don't work if you got a high ping towards your host.
With a Browser this problem wouldn't exist.

Wow, don't be a PC elitist. "Oh, right. This is being developed for consoles."

Console games can do a room system just as easy as PC games. Metal Gear Online has a full room system with completely customizable public rooms. Metal Gear Online even has a dedicated host option so there isn't someone running around with a 0 ping. There's dedicated servers for certain game modes and there's matchmaking as well for those that want that. It's just that the developers are too lazy and pretty much every game just has lame matchmaking. The Starhawk beta has a room system as well. Don't blame the consoles, blame the developers. I'm a console only gamer and I HATE matchmaking.

Yeah, a game browser will be good. It is present in all multiplayer games I have played so far except this.

Agreed, don't understand why there is no lobby browser. Even on the xbox it would work fine, ghost recon used a lobby system and I'm sure there are other games.

I don't think a lobby system is needed...CoD works fine without it.

Matchmaking is horrible. I spend five to ten minutes just finding a game. Most times, I fail to connect, but when it happens, a lot of the times the fourth ( or even third ) place never fill up. Or I get a CTD. :-/

I think they needed to tweak the match making and have advanced searches.  I have a similar problem as you but playing on a friday night yeilds better results maybe because there are more people playing.  I think when me3 comes out it will be easier to find match making.

Agreed. This match making system is about as stream lined as a brick.

COD is horrible because of the matchmaking, the matchmaking can't make even teams because character level is based off experience and not skill. It's not even fun to play in a party with good players in COD because you are just going to get matched up against randoms that can't put up a fight against an organized team of good players. Matchmaking makes COD unplayable for me because it ruins any competitive aspect of COD. Also, a room system allows the community to balance the game themselves; if a gun is overpowered, just set up rooms that restrict the use of that gun.

The matchmaking system in this game is indeed horrible. You either get into a full lobby, or you get into one with 2/3 players and it NEVER fills.

agree.

My brother and I played together tonight and we both wondered why there was no lobby browser at all. Our two open slots never filled up.

Plenty of console games have excellent matchmaking systems, Halo for starters. This isn't a PC vs Console issue. Its a game design issue. For the most part, MP looks good but they have to fix Matchmaking or it won't be sustainable.

Your consoles keep holding back everyones games and this is the result. Shoddy matchmaking with no browsers.

His post you quoted kinda shot holes in your argument. Plenty of console games with proper room based matchmaking, no reason Bioware cannot do it for consoles.

My guess it's just set up this way for the Demo (least I hope). It really wouldn't be difficult to add even a basic lobby system, especially since it's all co-op. If I find a group I play well with I'd like to try and stay with those people. Once I ran into a team that was only 2 Adepts and my infiltrator, that didn't end well...

Good point.

Although, I must admit, the concept of a PC Elitist who can't read is pretty damn amusing.

I'm not debating his argument. I'm well aware that consoles can have full room browsers. It's the attitude of laziness based on consoles being outdated that I was referring to.

I'm not debating can they, I'm saying Devs are going 'should they' because of **** like xbox live.

There, some perception to something that should be obvious.
