Then I missed your point. What was it?staindgrey wrote...
Way to completely alter my point for the sake of complaint. Good show.
The games industry as a whole is remarkably healthy and returning a very good profit. Many games are showing record sales. Together that suggests (to me) that most corporations are doing well and users willing to part with money.
While I'm nitpicking a few aspects of the game (or things like Origin and the EULA), it's on pre-order.

Since instead of getting "From Ashes" as our "Project $10", we get the multiplayer pass.
If thats how it worked, I'd say I'm fine with that, since multiplayer is awesome.
If From Ashes were free and multiplayer cost money, everyone would be whining about that.
Bioware cant win
How is it that Bioware can't win? They already have. They are going to make millions. I'd say they've won.
not true at all. for all we know they can sell 1 million copies and nothing more wich would be a huge disaster.
wether the dlc is free or not people still whine and you know thats a fact
I don't think Bioware gives a **** about the whining, though. They are gonna get a huge payday which is all that really matters.
um dude if me3 sells badly just by one million sells it can be a disaster because i cant even imagine how much money was involved into making this game.
they have to at least break even

I like how everyone just assumes that they just go into the game cut something out and call it DLC. It was noted that they started work on the From Ashes DLC AFTER the game was submitted for classification.

That comment's got nothing to do with this thread. I never commented on whether the DLC was cut or not. Only that in the absence of multiplayer, that piece of DLC would have been used for "Project $10" and given away free with new copies to dissuade used sales.
Just like Shale, who was developed in similar circumstances as this Prothean fellow, was used in DA:O.

People don't believe them because of leaked information a long time ago(about 9 months ago I believe), well before these past three months, that indicated that this prothean character was in development or, at the very least, planned for development, meaning that either they 1) were working on this DLC long before the game finished, or 2) the prothean was part of the game and later removed.

Multiplayer is extremely simple, I don't see how it coulve taken much of the SP.
the 4 player co cop is a nice way to go imo. now if they added team deathmatches or pvp than yea i can see a rise of concern for the sp

About 25 million has gone into this game from what I've read. Even if it was closer to 35 million, selling a million copies would net them 60 million at least, and that is if every copy sold was only SE. ME 1 sold about 3 million copies I believe so I think they are gonna sell plenty and 1 million is a low estimate of copies sold. In addition, collaborating with other companies with cross-promotions for content as well as developing for the kinect likely brought them some money since Microsoft is trying to push the kinect. They are going to get paid quite a bit.

It always does. If there was no multiplayer, they wouldn't just not spend that money elsewhere. They would have invested in the SP, probably.
Not SP. Donuts. Everybody loves donuts.

Just because they said that, does not mean it's true. It's like expecting a murderer to confess he/she killed all those people. Bioware would never say anything that makes them look bad.

The MP was developed by a different team, and on a separate budget. How did it "take away" from the SP?
Because that seperate team on a seperate budget would have been developing SP content to serve as "project $10" if it wasn't making MP.
