Also, don't be a dick to people that disagree with you, and don't let the people that agree with you be dicks to them, either.
Considering the way people have been attacking me in this thread, I think I've been pretty polite.
Sorry, I don't think I can be funny about this issue. Though some of the rants I've suppressed might have given unintentional amusement, since they've tended to accidentally quote Picard's "the line must be drawn here!" speech.

Since instead of getting "From Ashes" as our "Project $10", we get the multiplayer pass.
So what you're saying is 2+2=7

Check this out:
"Sorry, fellas. Looks like I'm gonna have to skip ME3. Bioware's just become *hipster glasses* too mainstream for me. But seriously, I'm a little depressed about this. I expected better from the Greatest Videogame Company of All Time, and I gotta draw the line at this ten-dollar-this-and-that, money-grubbing BS. Who's with me?"

Well, it's hard to be friendly when everyone's attacking you.
Or when being lectured about tone by someone whose been rather insulting.

This post made my day.
Bioware has done day of release DLC for the past three years at least with Shale's DLC, then Cerberus Network/Zaeed, and then most recently the DLC for Sabastion in DA II, it's not something new, unexpected, or honestly an issue for many. If it is an issue for you plain and simple, don't play it. I'm more than happy to pay for more enjoyment out of a game I love and will get a lot of play time out of. Especially if it's something that may have been otherwise cut for development issues or time constraints.
I had an additional speech ready, but I think the TLDR part works.
We have our cake, they're just asking for us to pay for our scoops of ice-cream we have a choice of getting. It's delcicous, but some people are going to think it should have been already served with the cake they ordered.
......brb getting cake and icecream.

Blizzard: Here's SC2. But it's only 1/3rd the full game. But we'll release it at full price instead.

If thats how it worked, I'd say I'm fine with that, since multiplayer is awesome.
If From Ashes were free and multiplayer cost money, everyone would be whining about that.
Bioware cant win
They could have made both free.
They could have made the entire game free too, but thats not how things work in the real world.
They could've had my money for the entire game, But thats not how things work either

I've been dealing with it for months now, just don't bother trying to explain it to them. Won't work.

I like how everyone just assumes that they just go into the game cut something out and call it DLC. It was noted that they started work on the From Ashes DLC AFTER the game was submitted for classification.
But let's ignore that, GIVE ME FREE DLC! ROBBLE, ROBBLE, ROBBLE!
People don't believe them because of leaked information a long time ago(about 9 months ago I believe), well before these past three months, that indicated that this prothean character was in development or, at the very least, planned for development, meaning that either they 1) were working on this DLC long before the game finished, or 2) the prothean was part of the game and later removed.
The devs at Bioware/EAware can tell me that the sky is blue and I'll have a hard time believing it at this point.

Indeed I usually hang out in the off topic section.
And I just bought DXHR on the steam sale so its not like I wont be bored.
Planning on finally getting Uncharted 3 when my check shows up too.

No one can win in the games industry.
No one.
They'll make enough money to be categorized as a win.
People will still buy the game...I think.

It's clearly not a one to one relationship. For one, they both require different resources.

It always does. If there was no multiplayer, they wouldn't just not spend that money elsewhere. They would have invested in the SP, probably.
Er no.
That's not how software development works.
If the money allocated to the separate MP team wasn't used, it would have simply not been assigned. You're thinking that the entire game has one budget and everyting comes out of that...
Most games have separate budgets for sound, graphics, MP etc. and they don't cross steams at all...If the graphics team runs over-budget, they don't get to borrow against the sound team...The guy in charge of the graphics team is getting hollered at by the big guy in charge overall for exceeding his team's budget.

It does. It helps you to get best ending.
That's not contributing the main game. That's making it worse, by screwing up the balance.
how do you know that? did you play the full game or are you just trolling as usual?
You'd have to have a pretty specific amount of war assets for a single imported MP character to take on a make-or-break role for unlocking the secret ending, and I just don't see that happening often.
