This isn't a new thing. This happens with EVERYTHING, not just video games. For example, I live in Hawaii. A flight to anywhere on the continental US is a minimum of 6 1/2 hour flight. I pay my air fare. Why should I have to pay extra for food? 6 1/2 hours time, pretty much anyone would get hungry. Don't you think food is necessary for that long flight? I do.
Extra fees are tacked on for everything. However, it's your choice whether you will buy it or not. Do you really care about the DLC? Buy it. If not, don't. Do you really want that food on the air plane because you're hungry? Buy it. If not, don't. Bring your own food from home or buy it at the airport (IMO even high airport prices gets you cheaper and better food than on a plane).
