Hi buddies,

in pure joy of me3 i brought me1 for my pc but i am dealing with THAT sound problem.
In game the end of a sentence is cut out. Some times its a singel words some times a couple, as far as i can say it is kind of depending on the lenght of the dialogue. The longer the spoken text the more words will be cut out.

I already read about it here and tried to alter the max. audio channels in the BioEngine.ini and installed a new sound driver also installed new graphics driver. BUT still the same annoying problem :?

If there is a soution i didnt encountered yet please let me know, if not i beg some one of you and or the support crew can help me fix it once and for all!

Here is my system summary made by the config tool...
Processor :          Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU     E7400  @ 2.80GHz
RAM :                    4GB
Graphics:             ATI Radeon HD 4770
Graphics RAM:   512MB
Sound:                  Realtek High Definition Audio     Ver. 6.0.1.6526
OS:                        Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate
DirectX:                DirectX 9.0c (Mar2009) or later

Game Version:   1.2

If some more data is needed i will be glad to provide it, to help getting this solved.

Thanks a lot so far, i hope we can find a way around or even a way to fix it!

I have this problem too. I've played through the game about 4 times with no issue, but then I moved my entire Steam folder to another hardrive. When I went to play ME1 in preparation of ME3, It gave me an error. I searched it and found I had to validate files to fix it, as moving the games screwed up the files in My Documents. This seems to have screwed up my config files, because it certainly isn't my hardware causing the problem. Now the game is unplayable and I don't know how to fix it. I've tried changing the max channels and total available channels as well as trying Generic Software and Generic Hardware.

If any or all of you are relying on the crap drivers that Windows 7 included as the default for Realtek Audio, get rid of them, Go directly to Realtek and get drivers from there.  Beyond that minor addendum, I have no personal knowledge of this symptom, and the game is 2 1/2 years old now.  Most of the older, experienced players left the Bioware Social site in Spring, 2011, and when the off-season ended, only ME3's forums picked up again.

There's practically no one visiting any of the gamer to gamer self-help tech forums any more.  Official support was always handled on the EA Help pages, and no one ever collected / summarized FAQs in here, so using a decent search engine to access the forum Archives for PC threads is the best use of the forum now.  The site's own Finder was created as a broken device, and will hardly help anyone.

That is the only reason keeping me from not playing Mass Effect 1 on PC again. Enabling Subtitles is a must for ME1 because of it.

It happens rarely in ME 2 and in ME3 I don't have any problems with dialogue being cut. Wish I had a better answer for you in ME 1. That issue is really annoying.

I am also experiencing the same annoying problem. Wonder if it's got anything to do with Windows 7. The game was designed for XP and Vista after all.
