I believe the idea is that charge is constantly available after the nova. I could be wrong, however, I don't play vanguard that much.

If you have half blast and are using a pistol giving you ~200% it is *impossible* to nova twice before charge will be ready.

However there is a slight delay between the first nova if you're going to charge again.

Exploiting the invulnerability frames works like this: Charge -> Nova -> very brief delay -> Nova -> Charge. That way, you take the damage to your half-full shields and have Charge ready to rock again after the second Nova unless you have truly awful latency.

There are two things you don't want to happen: lose all of your shields (preventing the Nova) or having Charge not register as available server-side. The former will kill you immediately and demands an immediate '6' to restore the barrier; the latter will chip away at your health and eventually kill you.
