Multiplayer has plenty of options with this, New Difficulty levels , Enemies, Maps and Modes
Difficulty is simple enough to understand, a level above gold where the Faction is just insanely effiecent or doesn't clown around with you, or sends ridiculously more guys. Though my Favorite idea is the shuffle difficulty, it's gold... except the enemy factions are mixed and random, you never know what's gonna swarm you.
Though I think new modes would be a sweet way to get people drawn in, Tired of playing the standerd wave survival? Why not try beating the Clock in an Assualt mode? You and your squad, A Massive map not just an arena, A time limit and a list of objectives to complete. but only one life to do it -to be fair revives after every objective or every other objective-
or maybe something akin to l4d? your squad battles from check point to check point in a large scale scenario. -A colony overrun by husks or some such-
So if you up the difficulty you have to give the players some form of buff to compensate for either more guys or grunts being more of a nusiance and your shields and health being like tissue
So either in my mind, Let you have the Premotes from Me1/2 giving you 10 more levels, A new offensive power and a new passive buff -Maybe an ammo power too IDK- and the ability to go rank 9 -I'll explain that in a second-
Permanent Armor mods Ala ME1 that need to be leveled up
or Research upgrades that need to be found off rare enemies and then paid for.
Premote is the simpliest, You'd first have qualify for it, Idk complete a gold challenge with the character you want to promote -not class the character themselves- I'm up to a suggestion on this one.
Pick which of the two premotions you want and the fight to thirty. The Premotion would come with the special option of mastering a skill, getting it to rank 9. Meaning you go back and pick the branch paths you didn't get for a power, and getting it to Rank 9 gives it a bonus.
Using Singularity for an example, you pick all the options you didn't get and get it to rank 9, to show you've mastered it, it's now roughly the size of a Stasis bubble -Ie more then enough to catch a group of soldiers- maybe not as on par as ME1's but it's be a nice display that your character has ascended to a new plain of combat due to fighting the Reaper menace. -still nothing compared to Shepards squad though XD-
Ten levels even of straight 6's for skill points wouldn't let you come close to maxing everything out... infact if you only got 60 skill points you only be able to max the four skills you decicede to max-if you decided you wanted to max all the skills you use- that would leave three fully empty skill trees XD
Armor mods would be like the Medical exoskeleton, it give you a power recharge and health regen buff but would come at a price of weakening your shields, to make it better you have to wear it and survive through missions -the difficulty determining how much it levels up due to live field testing and such- It be a high risk to use but once leveld it's weakness start to vanish and you finally get a nice buff at level X
Research upgrades are like the ones in ME2, General overall buffs to you, IE all pistols get a 10% damage upgrade, Your allowed to cary 1 more utility item in combat, you take 5% less damage etc etc
These would be dropped by special enemies that have a low chance of spawning during a mission and are effectively "Bosses" of the faction
Since Cerberus seems to like it's females being the most dangerous, It take a phantom, have her duel wield katana's, except she's also packing a Widow sniper rifle -so she's basically a Phantom/Nemesis hybrid... with the durablity of an Atlas... like a a Full bar of shield, barrier, armor and health to kill her- and has some biotic attacks just for further frustrations. -She's got Charge! AHHH!!! j/k-
*OMG it's Nova she's still pissed about ghost not being released XD*
Using survival as an example, if your playing Bronze you'd have a very low chance of this enemy spawning in the last two waves of the game -Wave 10 and 11- and even if she does show up, she may leave if you don't engage her quickly enough
Silver you have a better chances and she may show up at wave 9 and up now
Gold Wave 8 and up
and anything possibly higher would increase the chance of an encounter... or multiple encounters as the Boss may spawn
now for the poor soul who has read through my entire ramble what do you think?
Have your own idea or make a suggestion to fix mine -since mine are far from perfect-
I'd like to see the MP last a good long time, might be the last real ME thing we have once Shepard's tale ends in ME3
