Gotta say... confidence that this final part will actually be good when you don't seem to have learned from what sucked about ME2 isn't high, BioWare.

So you prefer ME1's load screen between every system?Terror_K wrote...
So... according to this video from IGN showing the galaxy map, not only do we have to still scan planets and not only do we still stupidly pilot the Normandy around like a little toy ship, but on top of that we now have to scan the areas between planets as well?! Seriously?

This just makes no goddamn sense to me whatsoever. There's no logic I can deduce that can explain this, it just makes no sense.
OP, no. Just... no. You just... no.

You don't have to scan all planets
The scanner tells you where is the artifact you are searching (like missions in ME2)
the game tells you how many devices are on a system., so once you find them, you can stop scanning and go to the next system without being afraid of forgetting something.
And even more important: You don't have to scan for minerals.
Also: Reaper chase!

Lucky you, I forgot I brought the mako on Ilos (don't ask how) and I walked the whole way my first run.Cazlee wrote...
It looks great! I'm so glad we don't have to use the mako anymore. Driving through that straight tunnel on Ilos took me a good 20 minutes.

why can't just click on the planet and have it scan? Why they felt the need to have as manual rotate and scan is beyond me. It shows they are not listening to overwhelming player feedback. Devs talk about a skipping combat button, how about a skipping resource gathering button?
You have to realize that the devs first have to stop hating the medium they work for before they start listening to them.

Well, since there is no "skip combat" button in ME3, don't see why you'd expect a "skip scanning" one. Also, in case you didn't notice, there is no mining for minerals this time.

Maybe it's mandatory to find the planets with anomalies? And the probe is just the "activation" flag of a mission?
I dunno. Seems redundant to me.

It's harder than you think. The only game I remember having any good mini-games was DE:HRMatt Barthez wrote...
I find it not too irritating, but certainly the new system is still rather boring. Why is it so difficult for them to come up with something interesting that requires any skill (or at least focus) from player?
