Honest answers.
I just want to know how the random drop is going to work if they really implement it in the retail.  And the odds of "never" getting the characters and weapons you want.

For me I am still lacking the Krogan Soldier (but at least 1+ mod for other alien unlocks)
And for the guns I only have rank 1 of carni and revenant.

Most of it is based on luck. I'm 70 and I still lack Salarians. You should already have atleast 3 alien races unlocked by the time you're 45, I can tell you that much, if you don't have ALL alien races at 20 by the time you're 100, then you're unbelievably unlucky.

98, lacking Widow, Claymore, Revenant, Turian Sentinel, Drell Vanguard, Krogan Soldier. Literally just got the Asari Adept, and then proceeded to open her three times out of five.

Only have the Drell Vanguard and Revenant left to unlock. I think I've got skin tone unlocked for two alien races and up to patterns on the others. Humans are fully tricked out. Quarian options are rather disappointing though. Only one 'light' to customize and skin color? Skin color? On a Quarian??? It took me a while after continuously selecting colors to finally notice that skin color options change the color of the face plate, or presumably, the face inside. Interesting to see the range of colors available for Quarians. Tali must be a velvety purple...

Have Salarian, Turien, Krogan, Drell, Quarian, and Asari all unlocked... all non gold guns at level X. The revenent, Widow, and Locust just at level 1 or 2.

level ninety=somthin', and the only races i've unlocked are drell vanguard, asari adept, and turian sentinel. those classes are fun and all, but i still don't have the frakkin' salarian infiltrator or the widow! it's pissing me off, those are the two that i've wanted the most (at least i have the locust)

I'm about 90, still no Carnifex, still no Human male vanguard, no male engineer. I literally unlocked the Hornet twenty minutes ago. I like it that way. It keeps the game interesting even in the "end game" as it were, even just in the demo. Imagine when it's all unlocked.

That would explain the Vanguard, but still no Quarian engineer still stands. I should've clarified, my bad.

I'm around 120, I have just recently unlocked Asari Adept, Salarian Infiltrator, Krogan Soldier, and Drell Vanguard (literally around lvl 100, although earlier for Drell Vanguard). I also have the Widow Sniper, the Viper, and a few SMG's and AR's.

No pistol unlocks, no shottie unlocks, and I still have NO ENGINEER UNLOCKS!!! Also drawing humans like a champ in all other classes. Yeah, my draws suck. I've almost had better luck with my recruit packs than vet packs...
