Umm... If you want to look at it that way.
I still think Miranda is more attractive though, and has a more interesting character. Thus, I'm staying loyal to Miranda in ME3.
The actress that Miranda is modeled after and voiced by is beautiful beyond any doubt, but something just doesn't jive with this homey about Miranda. She grates against my mind like a chalkboard being scraped by nails in an industrial McFlurry blender.

Her personality annoyed me, she's around average in my opinion. Doesn't matter now, she's dead in my game.

You know what? I need to try doing that one day. I've never pursued a romance just to be like, "Nah I'm not interested."Falcon509 wrote...

The Ashley support thread would've welcomed this discussion even though they've had it before.
You have so much faith in me as a human being. I am beyond direction or help. Abandon me to the abyss of the forums lest I drag you down into the depths of post-clutter until I get bored and play Mass Effect 2 again with the sole objective of getting Miranda, Tali, Jack, and Samara to fall for me before dashing their hopes on the rocks of rejection.

She's a more complex character than most others Bioware have come up with in the Mass Effect series. She has opinions that people may or may not agree with, but she does seem to have reasons for having them in the first place. Not to mention that she appears to be open to other viewpoints as well. Inferring that she is a bigoted and closed-minded space hick of a character is a little harsh...
I sense underlying issues for why you feel that way. Did she break your heart?

I really shouldn't even have to explain this. To be frank I feel sorry for the actress that had to put a personality behind the insipid writing that went into the Ashley Williams character.
Sing along!
o/`Grandad was a coward, and Daddy dun died in space, my mommah gave up her job and we was raising kids all over they place, but I don't care, cause I got my gun, and I hates me some aliens, and when I go I know I'll go with GAWWWD....yeeehaah!o/`

Her face looks different, in a bad way, and her hair being down is silly. She's military. It would be up like in ME1 and ME2, at least in all the situations we've seen her in thus far.

It does. I can't really put my finger on it but she does seem worse and her is NOT helping.
Frankly this is what Bioware is going for.

So what you're saying is, I win? Score!
Kinda harsh though. I'm not arguing. Just trying to have a good time.

This. At least, in regards to ME1 Ashley. I really liked her then. But now that I read the ME3 script and look back at her cameo in ME2...
Radical personality shift doesn't really begin to describe it. I guess Ashley and Kaidan becoming 1 character in ME2+3 didn't really do her any favors either.

Kaidan and Ashley are the 2 candidates for Virmire Survivor.
The Virmire Survivor behaves largely the same way in ME2 on Horizon, and in ME3 (PM me if you want any specifics).
Yes, they are technically different characters with different personalities. They may as well be clones of one another in execution, seeing as they fulfill the same role, with largely the same dialogue.

I am rather anxious to see how her character pans out in ME3 considering her appearance in ME2 was so brief and frankly, rather disappointing. I hope they keep her as a deeply thought-out character and not merely as eye candy.
At any rate, her appearance and development will likely be an interesting addition to the story... Not a main focus of mine in the game.

They are not the same character, they are just mutualle exclusive. Do you really expect them to have the same dialogue tree but with a different voice actor? Based on what?AgitatedLemon wrote...

Because I don't know that displaying women as empowered and equal to males in all ways means stripping away their feminine qualities.
Also all thats changed about Ashley here is her hairstyle. I'm not sure how long hair somehow degrades her in some way where shes being exploited as a sex object.
Its not like her armor is made of transparent body hugging latex or something. Shes got her hair down.
