Was I the only one expecting a close-up of Vanderloo's face at one point?

It was okay, but they should have left the shepard part out.

Not bad, though if they managed to get Vanderloo himself it would be even better :D

Is one of Easter Eggs that Shepard from that trailer looks a lot like my canon Mario Shepard?

Not really. Mario is missing the buzz cut :P

That would have been an improvement, they could have shown Alliance troops or even people just trying to fight or *something* other than than Shepard trying to take on everything by himself.

I just dont like them spending all this money on marketing and promotions but cut corners on Animatioin, UI, controls and gameplay systems.

If it wasnt for that then id say "cool commercial"

Surprisingly I think that this vid is going to be very hard to beat. I think it really has the right message that BioWare should have been using for their promo of ME3.

I think this gives us a good idea of what a Mass Effect movie would look like.

I love all the trailers for this game.

There is still going to be an in-game launch trailer.

So I have a bunch of behind-the-scenes shots I will put together into a post tomorrow morning for those of you who might be interested!

Live action stuff is great. Hits a more personal note than pure CG. Will we be seeing more live stuff before ME3 comes out?

P.S. - I'd love to see live action with all the squad members in it, or at least some of the alien races. Imagine the cinema-level costumes!

Don't know for sure, but I'd put 100 bucks on that being directed by the same team who did the Halo: Reach ads. Either that, or they got someone to watch that **** and mirror it. Same exact framing. shameless. Only the Halo Reach ads were 100x better.

I don't think so. The Halo:Reach ones had more of a concrete story to them and focused more on the battle/combat.
Not saying that's what made it better, but even though the visual style is the same, the themes are different.
Plus, Halo:Reach had 6 main characters. All of whom were featured to some degree in their trailers.
ME has, let's say, potentially 15 "main" characters, and all that we see is Shepard?
Not buying it... copycat production maybe, but I think they are a different group.

I agree. I was really disapointed that the CGI trailers where cut short on Mass Effect 2, Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II. At least the CE should have had it!

Sweet! Nice find. That trailer is pretty good at setting the mood for the game too.

Anyone know what the music was?
Or was it specifically made for the trailer?

Nice beginning, but the parts with Shep looked a little silly.

Saw the live action trailer....meh....Bioware could have spent their ad dollars more wisely. I can never relate to live action trailers for video games. Its kinda like lying about what the game is going to look like.....please give us another cgi trailer....you do those very well.

yeah the Shepard parts looked pretty lame, the husks and effects looked like the ingame ones, the "third person shooter" shot just looked really weird and that's not Shepard :(

However whoever mentioned Halo:Reach trailers, those were really awesome and each had some sort of mini-story which made them really entertaining to watch.

I love the CG and in-game trailers though so I'll stick to those

I didn't even think that was Shepard, just some random alliance solider guy.

The trailer was awesome. But for someone watching it who didn't already know everything about ME3, the first 2/3 of the trailer would be confusing as it doesn't actually show the reapers or very much stuff blowing up, just people freaking out and running around.
