So I was playing ME3 single player demo yesterday and noticed the framerate was really bad during the beginning. I played up until the beginning of SurKesh and turned it off since that was probably my... 15th time playing through it

So anyway, I get home from work and try turning on my PS3 and it just beeps at me and flashes yellow.... UGH. It's still doing it today. I know this is a common PS3 problem so I've tried several of the suggestions, but I'm thinking my PS3 has finally kicked the bucket.

you a YLOD mate. nothing to do with ME3. you can actually find fairly simple online guides on how to fix that.

I heard the 40 GB PS3s had the worst failure rate of any PS3s. Dunno why though.

I've fixed quite a few PS3's, especially my old 40GB, they're pretty damn easy and cheap to fix.

Hi Breyant,

I would point you in the direction of http://www.ps3ylod101.com/ but I would suggest that you make youself aware of warranty policy of PS3. That any interference with device will void it.

But if you are happy to continue knowing that fact then... take a whirl and see if you can get it back working...

And the same thing has been said about every new game out there but if ME3 demo broke your PS3 than The Force Unleashed broke my 360 and is the cause to why I switched back to Sony and finally got a PS3. Oh also note that the 360 customer service was poor service, called me dumb too. Well they didnt exactly say that but i knew they were.

My Friends PS3 died sunday while he was playing Skyrim. I believe he had the 40GB model. I have a launch console and it's kicking just fine. Got me nervous though.

My fattie died while I was playing Skyrim. Skyrim didn't kill my Fat PS3. It just got old and died. Time for an upgrade.

Once your PS3 YLOD it will never be the same. My first PS3 YLOD and I followed Gilksy's guide to fix it, got good quality thermal paste and everything. Worked for about 3 months then YLOD again. The fix is only temporary just so you know. It sucks I know

Well I got a new PS3 because none of the suggestions I heard helped at all and I'm not going to pay a bunch of money to fix my old one when the new PS3s aren't that much more expensive.

I've had the CE pre-ordered for PC so I'm not going to miss out on anything come March 6th. I was still planning on getting it for PS3 once the price drops, so in that aspect, I'm screwed because all 3 of my PS3 Shepards are dead. I have no idea how to get save files off the hard drive to put on my new PS3 and google tells me it's not an easy process.

It just really sucks because my Miranda romance is gone and so is my nearly completed Insanity run

Get an external hard drive, backup your ps3 files onto it then transfer them to your new PS3 you haven't lost anything its juts that the copy protection prevents you from transferring files individually

Thats the yellow light of dead for the ps3. It isn't me3 fault. You have to call sony and maybe buy or
send you're ps3 to repair it.

Try using a trick to get it to work again, buy psplus and throw the saves on the cloud thing than you can grab them when you get your new ps3

I've had 2 YLOD and 1 lightining strike sadly. Some people just have bad luck. Yours couldn't come at a worse time with ME3 coming out in less than 2 days. I'd call Sony and they will give you a switch to a slim for $99.
