As for killing squadmates,  I always make sure that everyone comes out alive,but this is mainly only because I am a completionist addict and I was really curious about their stories in ME3.

However, I also love a good story, and to me, I think that the most appropriate death of all the squadmates was that of Jack. (keep in mind, I love Jack, I'm talking about this situation in strictly plot-wise fashion)

Here are Jack's final words if she is hit during the suicide mission:

Jack: 'Too many...Tore me up. How'd you talk me into this? Heh....I wasn't supposed to care.'  

To me, this was a good ending to her story arc because she gave her life to protect the others, a truly selfless act that shows the complexity to her character.

This is a highly debatable topic, though.  But I am very interested in other's opinons too. <3

That's actually a really nice view on her story arc, I agree.  I wouldn't do it, but I agree.

I intentionally killed off Shepard. By extension, I had to kill off the rest of my squad, though you are able to keep one left alive.

You know it was intentional, because it takes ALOT of effort to get Shepard killed.

I lost Legion in my canon play-through. He is a Renegon and didn't have either the Intimidation or Charm to defuse it without one being disloyal.

Just finished a play through and purposefully killed off Garrus, Tali and Mordin, just to see if any replacements show up in ME3, probably the three most important characters to the story line in 3, what with two of those been squad members and the Geth/Quarian conflict and Salarian/Krogan conflict. It will be interesting to see how the demo mission plays out without Mordin, or maybe even Wrex?

I did one playthrough where I let people die (it was an Me2-only playthrough and I wanted to see the replacements I'd get. But it was hard because I love all these characters).
Everyone except Jack was unloyal (I figured I could romance Jack for once...she died). I send Jacob to the vents,picked Miranda for that bubble thing (which killed Thane) and Samara for teamleader. I send Zaeed back with the survivors and took Grunt and Miranda with me to the Reaper.
Survivors were Zaeed,Kasumi,Legion and I think Tali. Not exactly the combination I would have expected but okay...

I have a playthrough where I left Grunt in his tank and gave Legion to Cerberus. I have another playthrough where I intentionally got Jacob (volunteered for the vents), Thane (Suicide mission will do nicely) and Miranda killed. I mostly did it just to see how ME3 is different when squaddies are dead.

I tried to kill everyone I could so I was left with a bare minimum of characters.
Did not pick up zaeed.
Sold legion off.
Grunt stayed in tank.
Miranda,Samara and garrus survived.
I tried to kill miranda off by leaving her with mordin to hold the line....but she made it somehow.

I killed Miranda. I anti-regret it almost as much as Ashley.

Miranda. What a joke of a character. Btw, that comic is hilarious. Seriously, Garrus cant survive getting shot hen unloyal but Miranda can? W.T.F.

I think the minimum you can survive with is 2.

On Topic:
In my current canon playthrough I killed off Jack, Tali, Grunt, Zaeed, Miranda and half the normandy crew(Kelly, Rupert etc).
Not because I particularly hate any of them though, 'just wanted Shep to lose some people.

Haw, I'm intentionally killing: jacob, Thane, and Jack, on my replay of my original renegade shepard. He needs to lose some people, he needs to feel loss so maybe we wont be such an ass come mass effect 3 and actually care about saving lives this time

I had a couple of accidental deaths.

Jack wound up dead once, but I think I wound up replaying the suicide mission for that save and she has since survived.

I also had a disloyal Thane come on the final mission with me forgetting that it would kill him. He also died, but again, I wound up having to replay the final mission in order to complete a few things and he has since wound up surviving that second playthrough.

I just don't dislike any of the ME2 characters enough to want to actively try to kill them. It just seem like more trouble than it's worth.
