Hey, I've been enjoying the Engineer class (the Quarian was the first alien I unlucked) but there are a few things about the class I haven't figured out..

First of all, wouldn't it be nice to have some kind of icon (a small one) on your screen telling you your turret/drone is alive? Most of the time the battlefield is just covered in smoke anyway, so it's hard to see if the turret or drone is still alive.

Second, are they on a timer? I haven't really had the time to test this, but are they permanent companions unless destroyed?

And if you guys have a minute, I'd like some help with my builds.
For my Quarian I specced the Sentry Turret with the shocking upgrade, the cryo ammo upgrade and the flamethrower upgrade (and I'm loving the barbeque:D) and I have to say that I haven't really seen much use for the shock or the cryo ammo . Maybe I keep missing it, but the only shocked/frozen targets I see have been victims of my powers (or someone else's powers). Am I the only one wondering if the sentry turret shock/cryo ammo upgrades are worth it? They sound great in theory (disabling enemies) but I'm having a hard time seeing it.

Do you guys have any tips on what to specc next? I have been thinking of increasing my Cryo Blasts area of effect, and then speccing my Incinerate for extra damage against frozen targets. is that a good way to go? I would appreciate some thoughts on my planned build.

My human engineer has a high level Overload (can't remember how high since I usually play Quarian), but how should I specc my drone? Again, input from you guys would be great!

I think they time out when not in combat, but are a companion until destroyed in combat.

Main thing to go for is flamethrower on your turret at the final evolution. Cryoblast anything that gets near the turret and it will take care of the rest. My strategy is to treat your turret like a squad member you need to protect who happens to be a heavy hitter but has paper thin shields. Keep freezing everthing that gets near it and allow the turret to finish them off. Of course in practice the turret wont last long under fire but it can be spammed due to its short cooldown

Speccing incinerate to 100% damage on frozen targets is absolutely essential for higher difficulties. The class has clearly been designed to work around the 1-2 punch of freeze then explode. Cryo explosions are also great for freezing a mob if you get the opportunity (and they look and sound amazing!)
