Bit of a confusing title, but I'll try and explain.

You are launching space copys at the moment, and while that's lovely and all for everyone that recives a copy, why are we waitng till the 9th (Europe) to play the game?

I can't see what more you need to do? Demo was a great sucsess I only had a couple of bugs every now and then, so It can't be getting the online ready.

What gives.

I agree. At least the CE edition pre orders should go out earlier.

March is a good time for marketing. Sadly. Game sales slow down for the summer drag, throw in a couple of holdays, with birthdays (US average birthdays is close to march (or was)). Sad but true.

It's the final game in the ME series. it doesn't need marketing, if they released it sooner they'd have more buyers.

Again, I don't see why it's coming out so late.

They have to stick by their announced release date to make sure everyone know when to buy it. If they release it early, not everyone will hear about it and plenty of people would pick it up on the 6th, making their day one sales seem less impressive.
Also, giving the game to a few makes everyone else want it more. It's like the kid that's not interested in a toy until another kid starts playing with it, except in this case the kid already really freakin wants the toy

That's my theory, at least.

What I don't understand is why USA gets it on the 6th, then England gets it on the 9th. WHY?! That's just begging for fans from countries releasing on the 9th to have a higher risk of spoilers...

Actually it is the final game in Shepherds story. Unless I am mistaken they haven't actually said it's the last ME game.

So.....

"OUR PRE-ORDERS ARE BIGGER THEN YOURS"

Or. The physical copies are not yet ready for shipping/whatever - But then again, they are launching space copies so...yeah. Move the release date along come on.

They could release the space copies because it wasn't a whole ton. The rest of the copies need to be shipped out to the various stores. Also, some stores have warehouses where they further distribute the items to individual stores.

Australia gets it on the 8th. As for spoilers, if you get spoiled it's your own fault. Stay away from the BSN and other sites until you finish it.

Also, they(EA/Bioware) built a good portion of their marketing around the 3/6/12 idea. Hence the wait.

Stay away from the INTERNET you mean. Spoilers will be everywhere. Means I can't visit half the sites I want.

At this point, I'm fairly sure anyone that enjoys the Mass effect universe doesn't care about the idea of a "COOL AND EDGY" release date.

Don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure people have said it's because PAL release their media on fridays whereas NTSC on Tuesdays? Something like that I believe.

Oh believe me, once this game is in the hands of the general public anywhere in the world I will be staying the hell away from this website!

Aus gets it on the the 8th? Why can't it just be a worldwide simultaneous release, like CoD, Battlefield, Halo, etc.?

That seems logical, but without proof to back it up I can't belive that. Considering we still have another 2 weeks (ish) before Europe gets it they could do it next week.

I am pretty sure it has to do with when games are released in the PAL region. In the US, games are released on Tuesdays and the PAL region they are later in the week. It is an industry wide thing that Bioware/EA has no control over. The same thing happens with music, movies, and books. They all typically are released on a certain day each week.

Besides, the PAL region is getting the game the same week as the NA.. This way the game truly has a global launch. PAL consumers are just unlucky that games are released a couple days later in the week.

As a general rule, this is true, but most major game franchises throw this idea out the window and just release on the same day worldwide, regardless of it being a Tuesday or a Friday or whatever.

Here is an video explaining why Europe gets the game later than the USA:

www.gametrailers.com/video/europe-dates-pach-attack/723856

There are parts in Europe like Germany getting the game March 8th because EA releases usually their games in Germany and other parts in Germany on Tuesdays.
But I agree that we want the game now =]

That video didn't answer any of my questions except telling me that Europe is full of idiots. Did everyone seem to forget the big boom that is Digital distribution? You normally have to activate the game on Steam/Origin anyway so why even bother with physical copies.

I'm annoyed that I have to wait 3 more days because I live in Europe when I'm going to be getting the digital copy anyway. I just can't even comprehend how stupid this entire system is.

Honestly it just seems like some stupid american thinks that Europe is 3 days in the future while america is 3 days behind.

*deal with it .jpeg*

All europeans hate it, but theres nothing that can change how release dates work for EU as of today.

Distribution will always be US 3 days earlier, EU 3 days later.

Simple as that.

The annoying thing is it's not all of Europe. My friend in Denmark got a game that was said to be released 4 days after the American release, yet was still managing to play it.
