Russia gets it on the 7th. Pretty weird release dates.Diswayz wrote...
What? So England gets it on the 9th while Sweden gets it on the 8th, same as Australia? That's weird, England and Sweden are practically neighbours! I'm glad I'll get to play the game one day earlier than England but it just doesn't make any sense! Explanation?

Your probably right. But what got me was Mr Priestly's answer "EU launches on Thursday or Friday for new media (books, music, games,WizenSlinky0 wrote...

ok I understand "people" decided usa 6th eu 9th but to me thats just suits decided over a coffee to do that. There is no logical or techical reason why two dates Skyrim did just one 11/11/11 which was a friday
As with any general rule you can find ways around it. They may forced it into their contract with US distributors in exchange for something, as an example.
But I don't know the inner workings of the industry any better than most.
etc), North America launches on Tuesdays. Nothing we can do about
that. Sorry." as though it was some technical reason with no work around. what would have been a better answer would have been "soory that was a distridutors/management decision" or you suggest a contractual obligation.
Technically they could release it whatever day they wanted to. Skyrim was an exception obsessed with the 11/11/11 date. The reason the game is not done that way is because that is what is accepted as the industry standard. Why doesn't any other game come out earlier in the week? It is because the industry decided that Friday is the day they want, so companies plan on that. It is as simple as that. There is an accepted release date each week, and companies plan promotions and distribution around it.
Besides, releasing in EU, NA, and AUS in the same week is quite the achievement, especially when you consider that games and consoles coming from Japan to the rest of the world 3 months apart is considered a global launch at the same time.

So, turn off my internet for 3 days? I'm currently at home 24/7 and have pretty much nothing to do. I can't leave the house and I'm stuck in bed pretty much all day.
While I know I can't avoid all the spoilers, most of the sites I visit on a daily basis will most likely be talking about this game. You don't sound like you are from Europe so I wouldn't expect you to understand.
Who said to completely shun the entire Internet? I think I specifically said gaming sites and the BSN. BTW, I went about a week without any computer access when my old laptop bricked, and that didn't kill me. Furthermore, I was sick for at least one solid month back in college and couldn't leave the house/really get around because of a bad cough (spent most of my time on the sofa or in bed while hacking my lungs out and was bloody miserable).
I don't think being stuck in bed 24/7 means you can't find something to do online besides visiting your favorite sites for a week or two. Watch some movies/tv shows, catch up on reading, play whatever other games you might have. At this point, I kind of can't believe you're complaining about three days of avoidance (although if you were wise, you'd start avoiding these places sooner because people seem to keep leaking stuff earlier & earlier with each game release).
And since I'm in Hawaii, you're right - I'm not in Europe. What does that have to do with anything? I sometimes can't even get release-day delivery/next-day delivery, and, omg, usually get games later than mainlanders do (not to mention shipping costing more). Being able to use one's common sense isn't determined by one's continent. As a matter of fact, you saying that "I just wouldn't understand" is making me inclined to not take your concerns seriously at this point.
P.S. Even when I can get release-day or next-day delivery, sometimes it's so expensive that I don't WANT to pony up and can wait up to a week after the actual release date to get a game. I still manage to avoid spoilers.
^ This to OP.
On topic of Skyrim, I learned a valuable lesson. Even with a pre-ordered copy, paid to recieve it on the release date, Amazon still failed to get it sent in time. A "dispatched" email at 2am on the release date is not good. But that's the retailer's stock/distribution problem, not Bioware's fault (IMO).
On topic of the OP's release issue for ME3? V That.

Hello,
Will the PC european version of the game be playable from march 6th ? I live in France and will get the game arround the 2nd/3rd, would like to know if I could play it.
I've had games preloaded the week before the North American release date and come that Tuesday they would not unlock due to me being in Europe. Your likely going to have to wait.
Awwww crap. Thank you for the answer.
