Ok, so I finally caved and played the demo today. I wasn't going to, but then I thought... ok, Ill just do multi. And I have some thoughts about the game. Some good, some other, but this topic isn't about that.

After A couple games, I found my playing style, soldier with mattock (yes, yes, I know). But then... then I found the revenant.
Now I know I loved that gun to death in ME2. But how can you, bioware make this gun into... into... a thing of legend. I mean legend. I testfired this in game, and it was like thunder struck. The power of mayhem in the palm of my hand. This gun is the baddest ass of badass badasseness.

Oh my god bioware, thank you, thank you very much. I will not ever use another gun again.

Wait... what? You LIKE that piece of unupgradeable junk? :o

Or was that sarcasm I somehow missed?

OP must be playing a different demo. The revenant is a pos in the one I'm playing.

The Revenant is extremely bad when hip fired, but if you mount it in some cover and use the kickback reducer and scope it actually becomes fairly effective at defending an area. Almost every single bullet causes a stagger, so you can just chain stagger dance enemies until they die.

Is this sarcasm? The Revenant is one of the numerous weapons that ways far too much to be even remotely practical.

I am unsure if this is sarcasm or if the OP is indeed playing a different demo...

With an added Scope and some recoil-stabilizing mod, it becomes useful. Or at least fun to play with.

I find Revenant+Incendiary Rounds+Krogan Soldier+Bronze=Hilarious fun. I can't help but giggle as I lumber around the maps, watching enemies actually run away as this tank beast fires away on full auto.

Kudos Bioware.

Really? PoS? Don't know which gun your talking about.

Ive got the Revenent at level 2 and its damage and accuracy is the same as my level 10 avenger. The Rev also sports a higher rate of fire and higher clip capacity than my Avenger does. Sure, its a heavy beast but it lets you pour out a huge stream of fire that will let you chew mobs to bits much quicker than the Avenger does.

DAMN YOU JUST PLAYED IT AND GOT THE REVENANT!!!

May i get your address to murder you? slowly? ive got some spoons for this occasion! ;)

Btw i believe anyone who rants against the revenant doesnt see that its supposed to be a HEAVY weapon, from what ive seen, in inexperienced hands it blows, and 2 i saw that had said experience outgunned my avenger x, so i want that gun (with recoil dampener and bigger clip^^)

Well, at least he's not running around with a Carnifex spamming powers.

Bravo OP.

Once I'm actually able to upgrade that weapon, I'll stop disregarding it as useless piece of crap. Also: Run a scope instead of a bigger clip - at least against Cerberus, cannot comment on other enemies. Ammo capacity is one of the things this weapon does not lack. :P

As i can't even properly handle the scope on the avenger i rather stay with the clip^^

My carni isnt scoped either and i easily dispatch guardians at range if need be (and either my widow or avenger are empty)

The gun isn't accurate enough to justify the weight.

It's only really effective up relatively close.

And well.. may aswell use the Claymore for that.

Yeah... but neither Avenger nor Carnifex lack accuracy. The Revenant on the other hand... boy, ohh boy. Right now I have an Avenger X and a Revenant I (lucky me... >.<). The Avenger (with recoil dampener and extended mag) outperforms the Revenant (with recoil dampener and scope) in any way possible except clip size while weighing 1/4th of the weight. It's not unexpected with such a discrepancy in upgrades and that's the only reason I haven't abandoned all hopes on it.

I got the Revenant, but (due to it's over weight on cool downs) it affects my power spammer style in multiplay. I'll save that beauty with I play the MS.

Thats the range i want it for, aka the range i cant use my widow anymore, a claymoreIII so far cant satisfy that area

@ttchip
MAybe the wondrous day i will get it (instead of double useless class cards) i might reconsider, until then i belive i will go with the bigger clip on it

After all i modded me the rev in me2 with a greater recoil outside of cover

To all the ragers, you I trciked you, that's was the point. :P ( I know, I'm mean :()

No, this wasn't sarcasm.

And finally, this is NOT piece of ****. With recoil reduced and an accuracy mod, this is murderous at as much as mid-to-far range. You have to know how to use it of course... For far range there's snipers anyway.

Just use Carnifex X with scope on all classes... there is really no need for any other weapon, sure a krogan wont be that "badass looking" with a pistol... but cerberus wont be able to verify that, since their heads will be a few meters away from their bodies >:D

And whats wrong with that playstyle? Lets not pretend like spamming powers isn't the most effective and efficient way to deal with enemies.

The rev is not only heavy, severely limiting your cooldowns, but it also has awful spread. At certain ranges even the Avenger will out-perform the rev due to how many bullets miss in your stream of fire. It doesn't matter if you mount a Stability Dampener V on it, an Avenger with the same mods will easily out-kill the rev due to how many more headshots you can land.

I use my Revenant (level III, lucky me) with my Krogan soldier, along with my Claymore & shotgun bayonet V (again, lucky me I guess), and the enemies on bronze tremble in fear. Think of the Revenant as a light machine gun, it's not supposed to be an accurate marksman rifle, it's supposed to put a large amount of large bullets down range. If you want a marksman rifle, use the Mattock. If you want to keep an enemy pinned down with a 108-round clip, use the Revenant.

(btw, Revenant + Claymore = ~30 second carnage recharge time. If you like using powers, do not do this.)
