Agreed OP the Revenant is even more godly than it used to be. I LOVE IT!

Its not all about kill speed.

The Revenant has near guaranteed stagger on every bullet. That's its niche. It's a suppression fire weapon that keeps the enemy off balance. A Turian with the proper upgrades can also make it quite accurate. You don't need to focus on head-shots because you've got a hell of a lot of bullets and anything that you shoot can't shoot back because they're falling over due to the massive bullets.

Use it on a turian but with the weight limit boost instead the accuracy. At first i didn't really like it, then i put on the scope and the stability mod and started pulsing it instead of bursts and the accuracy raised quite a notch, as does killspeed. Even get a headshot award every now and then :)

I've also used the Revenant with my Krogan Soldier on Bronze. It's not very good, the Mattock is hands down better, but man is it fun! You stomp around and just hold down the trigger and it roars away, then bash anything that gets close. I think the enemies are dying from fear rather than the bullets!

Its nice to see someone (the OP) who isn't obsessed with fanatically spamming powers in multiplayer.

I use my Revenant (level III, lucky me) with my Krogan soldier, along with my Claymore & shotgun bayonet V (again, lucky me I guess), and the enemies on bronze tremble in fear. Think of the Revenant as a light machine gun, it's not supposed to be an accurate marksman rifle, it's supposed to put a large amount of large bullets down range. If you want a marksman rifle, use the Mattock. If you want to keep an enemy pinned down with a 108-round clip, use the Revenant.

(btw, Revenant + Claymore = ~30 second carnage recharge time. If you like using powers, do not do this.)

haha, yeah, that's eactly what Im going for :D

But  do wonder why you're even carrying a claymore (except for fun of course, then it's ok :P). I mean, revenant tears up anything at close range anyway :)

Revenant sucks against Cerberus, you're right.

It will absolutely dominate a horde of husks rushing towards you!

Balance will change based on your enemy! It will be so much fun changing tactics based on who you are fighting!

I finally got it and put it on my Turian sentinel. Ran one mission with it.

Changed back to the Mattock.

It just doesn't have enough firepower to justify the weight.

Or not knowing who you'll be fighting, and having to adjust on the fly for a 10% XP bonus.

Tested it on Silver. Revenant is amazing, outperforms M8-Avenger in almost every way. When in the hands of a Human Soldier speced into Adrenaline rush (+50% dmg, +50% shield strengh), give him any ammo power + a single use assault rifle enhancement (in the full game you will be able to outfit it with an extended barrel for +x% dmg), and spec combat mastery into weapon damage. Drops down cerberus guys almost instantly, waaaaaaay faster than avenger at any range. You can even take down atlases on your own no problem. And about cooldown: Revenant X only gives you +100 % and it means you can spam ARush almost without interuption which means +50% dmg and shields all the time. Will do wonders against swarms of husks.

Ok, so I finally caved and played the demo today. I wasn't going to, but then I thought... ok, Ill just do multi. And I have some thoughts about the game. Some good, some other, but this topic isn't about that.

After A couple games, I found my playing style, soldier with mattock (yes, yes, I know). But then... then I found the revenant.
Now I know I loved that gun to death in ME2. But how can you, bioware make this gun into... into... a thing of legend. I mean legend. I testfired this in game, and it was like thunder struck. The power of mayhem in the palm of my hand. This gun is the baddest ass of badass badasseness.

Oh my god bioware, thank you, thank you very much. I will not ever use another gun again.

Unless this is sarcasm, you must be mistaking ME2 with a Garrus-Grunt squad for ME3 Co-Op because ME3's revenant is garbage.

the Revenant tears things up with a few shots, which is very fun, especially firing into large groups of enemies. the Claymore absolutely decimates anything with one shot, and then I use it with the bayonet to melee anything that my Krogan can rage into. fun? yes. extremely gruesome and violent way to kill everything ever? also yes.

False statement is false. But that is only because you fail to understand the Revenant. I've played a bunch of games on Silver using human soldier with only revenant and I most of the time average close to 40k points like any other player. Get 20 Headshot badge without even trying.

I haven't tried the ME3 revanant yet (but by the grace of god I want to), but does no one "feather" the trigger anymore? That's how I off-set that heavy recoil in ME2.

Not every class is made for the Revenant. The Turian sentinel is a beast with it. It is all I carry, the cooldown for overload is around 3 seconds even with the tech armor up. Empty clip, overload, reload, repeat.

I sadly screwed up my Turian build in relation to the Rev. Damn thing has negative recoil in the demo, super awkward having the thing pull down all the damn time. Don't expect that'll be an issue in the actual game but... kind of amusing?

I've only used the Revenant about once or twice in the beginning before I unlocked the Mattock. I'm not gonna say it's a bad assault rifle but I haven't unlocked any upgrades for it so I've stuck to using the Mattock (just unlocked the X rank for it). I'll probably go back to using the Revenant once the full game releases.

The only advantage I can see to it is the spread is so wide you gain assists like the wind. I'm pretty sure you could hit something stood behind you with all the random directions.

The Revenant is HORRIBLE on all difficulties if you ask me. It works on bronze because your enemies are made out of glass on that difficulty, but beyond that it is competely unusable if you ask me. Some people suggested it might be good against a horde of husks. I guess, or you could just use any other rapid fire gun and be much more effective.

It's a Soldier's weapon only. AR is not that useful in MP so most people use CS, which is on a very short cooldown anyway. The combination of CS and continuous Revenant fire make the soldier shine as a team support specialist. 'COVERING FIIIIIREEEE!' Really, it's a staggerfest. Rev and close range will make you shout 'This is Spartaaaa!!!'...(hopefully not very loudly in a room with other people, my wife thought I spazzed out or something...)

It's obscenely effective at close-medium range with extensive upgrades.
Mine holds over 100 rounds to the clip which I can instantly reload with adrenaline rush.

It's the very definition of suppressing fire.
